What is Textlocal?

The Textlocal skill for Openclaw Skills provides a robust bridge between AI coding agents and the Textlocal messaging platform. It enables businesses to automate marketing campaigns, customer service notifications, and operational alerts through a secure, authenticated channel.

By leveraging the Membrane CLI, this skill abstracts the complexities of OAuth and credential management. Developers can focus on building intelligent messaging logic while the underlying system handles API communication, token refreshes, and secure proxying to the Textlocal infrastructure.

Textlocal Use Cases

  • Sending automated SMS notifications for order updates or security alerts.
  • Managing marketing contact groups and bulk uploading customer data.
  • Tracking engagement by creating shortened URLs for SMS campaigns.
  • Monitoring credit balances and message delivery history for operational reporting.
  • Retrieving inbound messages from specific inboxes for automated customer support.

How Textlocal Works

  1. Authentication: The user logs into the Membrane tenant via the CLI to establish a secure session.
  2. Connection Establishment: A specific Textlocal connector is instantiated, linking your account credentials to the Openclaw Skills environment.
  3. Discovery: The agent uses the action list command to identify available Textlocal operations like send-sms or get-templates.
  4. Execution: Actions are triggered via the CLI with JSON payloads, which are then routed through Membrane's secure proxy.
  5. API Proxying: For custom requirements, raw requests are sent to Textlocal endpoints with headers and auth automatically injected.

Textlocal Setup

Install the Membrane CLI

Install the global CLI to manage your Openclaw Skills:

npm install -g @membranehq/cli

Authentication

Log in to your tenant to authorize the environment:

membrane login --tenant

Initialize Textlocal

Search for the connector and establish a connection:

membrane connect --connectorId=textlocal_connector_id --json

Textlocal Data Schema & Taxonomy

The Textlocal skill organizes data into several logical entities to streamline messaging workflows:

Entity Description
Messages Includes SMS, RCS, and WhatsApp content, sender IDs, and scheduled status.
Contacts Managed via Groups; includes phone numbers, names, and custom fields.
Surveys Data structures for collecting customer feedback via SMS.
Templates Pre-approved message structures for consistent communication.
Inboxes Containers for receiving and organizing inbound messages.

Textlocal Advanced Features

  • Automatic Token Refresh: Never manually handle API keys; Membrane manages the full Auth lifecycle.
  • Intent-Based Action Discovery: Use natural language queries to find the correct API action for your task.
  • Transparent API Proxying: Send custom requests to any Textlocal endpoint with automatic base URL and header injection.
  • Multi-Recipient Support: Send messages to individual contacts or entire groups in a single operation.
  • Real-time Balance Monitoring: Programmatic access to SMS and MMS credit balances for automated top-up alerts.
