What is Uniify?

Uniify is a unified communication platform designed to centralize various messaging channels into a single, cohesive interface. This skill enables AI agents to interact with Uniify data, making it an essential component of Openclaw Skills for developers building automated customer support or internal operations tools. By utilizing Membrane as the underlying transport layer, this skill simplifies complex authentication and data synchronization logic.

With this integration, agents can access meetings, participants, documents, and tasks without needing to build custom integrations for every communication channel. It provides a standardized way to handle internal and external business communications, ensuring that Openclaw Skills can operate effectively within modern team environments.

Uniify Use Cases

  • Automating customer support responses across multiple messaging channels.
  • Syncing meeting notes and participant lists to external project management tools.
  • Monitoring specific channels for task-related keywords to create automated work items.
  • Managing document access and distribution within team communication threads.
  • Streamlining internal communications by summarizing long message histories for agents.

How Uniify Works

  1. The AI agent utilizes the Membrane CLI to establish a secure session with the Uniify platform.
  2. A connection is ensured by providing the Uniify workspace URL, which Membrane normalizes and matches to the appropriate connector.
  3. The agent monitors the connection state, guiding the user through OAuth or API key entry if CLIENT_ACTION_REQUIRED is triggered.
  4. Once the connection is READY, the agent searches for available actions using natural language intent via Openclaw Skills functionality.
  5. Pre-built actions are executed to retrieve or modify data, with Membrane handling all pagination and credential refreshing automatically.
  6. For custom requirements, the agent can use proxy requests to hit specific Uniify API endpoints while maintaining secure header management.

Uniify Setup

To set up the Uniify skill for your agent, first install the required CLI:

npm install -g @membranehq/cli@latest

Next, authenticate your agent environment. When using Openclaw Skills, specify the client name accordingly:

membrane login --tenant --clientName=openclaw

Finally, establish the connection to your Uniify instance:

membrane connection ensure "https://uniify.io/" --json

Uniify Data Schema & Taxonomy

The Uniify skill organizes data into several key entities to help Openclaw Skills navigate the communication graph:

Entity Description
Meeting Represents scheduled or past communication sessions.
Participant Users associated with specific meetings or calls.
Document Files and shared resources stored within the platform.
Task Action items and records assigned to users.
Channel Communication hubs (e.g., Slack, Teams, or internal rooms).
Message The core content of communication within channels.
User Identity data for team members and external contacts.

Uniify Advanced Features

  • Natural language intent discovery to find specific actions without manual documentation lookup.
  • Transparent credential management that eliminates the need for agents to handle raw API keys.
  • Headless login support for server-side Openclaw Skills deployments via auth codes.
  • Automated API proxying that injects correct authentication headers and base URLs for custom endpoints.
  • Long-polling connection status checks to ensure the agent only proceeds when the integration is fully authorized.
