What is Yandex SpeechKit STT?

The Yandex SpeechKit STT skill provides seamless speech recognition capabilities for developers building voice-enabled applications. This Openclaw Skills component allows AI agents to process audio formats like OggOpus, WAV, and MP3, converting them into actionable text. It is specifically optimized for handling Telegram voice messages by managing the authentication lifecycle and audio constraints automatically.

By utilizing the Yandex Cloud infrastructure, this skill ensures high accuracy for Russian and English speech, making it an essential tool for developers creating localized bots or transcription services. It abstracts the complexity of JWT authentication and IAM token refreshing, providing a clean interface for both CLI and programmatic usage.

Yandex SpeechKit STT Use Cases

  • Transcribing Telegram voice notes for AI agent processing
  • Automating speech-to-text workflows in localized environments
  • Integrating high-accuracy multi-language speech recognition into automation pipelines
  • Developing voice-controlled CLI tools using Openclaw Skills

How Yandex SpeechKit STT Works

  1. The skill receives an audio file in OggOpus, WAV, or MP3 format.
  2. It automatically generates or refreshes a secure IAM token using the configured service account and private key.
  3. The audio is pre-processed and clipped to 28 seconds to comply with Yandex SpeechKit API synchronous recognition limits.
  4. The processed audio is transmitted to the Yandex Cloud API for transcription.
  5. The resulting text is returned to the agent or output directly to the terminal.

Yandex SpeechKit STT Setup
