What is Zuplo?

Zuplo is a powerful, programmable API gateway designed to help developers build, scale, and secure their API infrastructure. It functions as a high-performance reverse proxy with advanced capabilities for managing API traffic, enforcing authentication, and implementing custom logic directly within the request pipeline. By using Openclaw Skills, developers can bridge the gap between their AI agents and Zuplo’s robust management features.

This integration leverages the Membrane ecosystem to provide a seamless interface for interacting with Zuplo data and records. It simplifies complex API management tasks by abstracting away the underlying authentication plumbing, allowing agents to focus on executing logic and automating workflows across projects, environments, and custom domains.

Zuplo Use Cases

  • Automating the creation and management of API routes and environments.
  • Monitoring and retrieving API logs for real-time debugging and analysis.
  • Managing API keys, secrets, and user permissions programmatically.
  • Implementing custom logic and authentication providers via AI-driven workflows.
  • Orchestrating API gateway configurations across multiple projects using Openclaw Skills.

How Zuplo Works

  1. The agent authenticates via the Membrane CLI, which handles secure token exchange and credential refreshing.
  2. A connection is established to the Zuplo API gateway, creating a persistent and secure link.
  3. The agent utilizes natural language intent to search for specific Zuplo actions, such as managing routes or listing secrets.
  4. Actions are executed with JSON parameters to modify or query the gateway configuration.
  5. For specialized tasks, the agent can use the Membrane proxy to send direct HTTP requests with automatic header and auth injection.

Zuplo Setup

First, install the Membrane CLI to enable communication between your agent and the gateway:

npm install -g @membranehq/cli@latest

Next, authenticate your environment. For Openclaw Skills, specify the agent type during login:

membrane login --tenant --clientName=openclaw

Connect to your Zuplo instance to begin managing your API data:

membrane connection ensure "https://zuplo.com/" --json

Zuplo Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill organizes Zuplo's management entities into a structured taxonomy for easy agent access:

Entity Description
Proxy/Route Configuration for API request paths and targets.
Environment Deployment stages like production, staging, or development.
Secret Securely stored environment variables and sensitive keys.
API Key Credentials used for consumer authentication to your gateway.
Logs Historical and real-time request/response data for monitoring.
Project The top-level container for all gateway resources and settings.

Zuplo Advanced Features

  • Multi-agent support for collaborative API management using Openclaw Skills.
  • Automated polling and state management for asynchronous connection building.
  • Transparent credential refresh to ensure long-running automations never lose access.
  • Natural language action discovery to find the best integration logic for specific intents.
  • Direct proxy requests for full-spectrum access to the Zuplo API beyond pre-defined actions.
