What is GitNexus?

GitNexus is an open-source knowledge graph engine by Akon Labs that indexes codebases into a deterministic graph of dependencies, callers, imports, call chains, execution flows, clusters, and cross-repository relationships. It connects to coding agents through MCP, allowing them to query structured code context instead of relying only on file searches, embeddings, or similarity guesses. GitNexus supports impact analysis, blast-radius detection, git-diff analysis, architecture discovery, hybrid search, and multi-repository graph analysis. Its local version keeps code, indexing, and queries on the user's machine, while Enterprise provides managed SaaS or self-hosted deployments with features such as automated PR review, auto-reindexing, unified multi-repo graphs, SSO, and dedicated support.

How to use GitNexus?

Install or access GitNexus, index one or more repositories, and connect it to a compatible MCP coding agent such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, OpenCode, or Antigravity. The agent can then use GitNexus tools to query code relationships, inspect execution flows, identify callers and dependencies, analyze git changes, and estimate the blast radius of proposed edits. Teams can use Enterprise to connect multiple repositories, enable automatic reindexing, and deploy the system as managed SaaS or inside their own network.

GitNexus's Core Features

Deterministic code knowledge graph built with Tree-sitter static analysis

Exact resolution of imports, callers, callees, call chains, field types, and return types

MCP integration with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, OpenCode, and Antigravity

Blast-radius and impact analysis for code changes and git diffs

Architecture discovery through Leiden community-detection clustering

Unified multi-repository graph with cross-repository dependency edges

Seven MCP tools including query, context, impact, detect_changes, rename, and Cypher

Hybrid BM25 and semantic search with reciprocal rank fusion

Local and private indexing, storage, and querying

Browser-based graph explorer and web UI

Automatic enterprise reindexing on every commit

Enterprise PR review and auto-updating documentation wikis

GitNexus's Use Cases

#1

Give coding agents precise callers, dependencies, and execution-flow context before modifying code

#2

Analyze the blast radius of a function change before committing or opening a pull request

#3

Trace breaking API changes across microservices and dependent repositories

#4

Discover undocumented architecture such as authentication, billing, and ingestion modules

#5

Help developers navigate large codebases without repeatedly searching through files

#6

Support large engineering teams managing multiple repositories in one unified graph

#7

Run private code intelligence and agent context analysis inside an enterprise network

#8

Use graph queries and impact analysis during code review and refactoring
