The longer leg represents the positive side, while the shorter leg represents the negative side. Position the LED light with the shorter leg on the front of the artwork, making sure both legs touch the copper tape.

Creating the Circuit Pathway

Now, it's time to create the circuit pathway using the conductive copper tape. Peel back the backing of the copper tape and start laying it down along the drawn pathway of the circuit. Make sure the shiny side of the tape is facing up, as this is the conductive side.

Be cautious when making corners in the circuit. Fold the tape at the corners by first folding it in the opposite direction of the turn, then folding it back onto itself. This ensures a secure connection while maintaining the integrity of the circuit.

Adding the Copper Tape

Measure the length of the copper tape needed for your circuit pathway. It's always better to have a little extra tape than not enough. Cut the tape to the appropriate length, making sure to remove the excess backing.

Begin laying down the copper tape on the circuit pathway, adhering it firmly to the artwork. Take your time to ensure the tape follows the drawn pathway accurately. Use scissors to cut the tape at the appropriate spots when necessary.

Testing the Circuit

Before permanently attaching the LED and securing the battery, it's essential to test the circuit. Place the coin cell battery on the designated spot, ensuring the positive and negative sides Align with the corresponding sides of the copper tape. Check that the LED light illuminates, indicating that the circuit is working correctly.

Attaching the LED

Once you have verified that the circuit works, gently tape the legs of the LED light to the copper tape using small pieces of Scotch tape. Ensure that the tape does not touch between the legs, as this can disrupt the flow of electricity. Double-check the circuit by placing the battery in position and observing the LED light up.

Securing the Battery

To secure the battery in place, use a small piece of Scotch tape to affix it to the artwork. Be careful not to place the tape between the battery and the copper tape, as it can interfere with the circuit's functionality. Make sure the circuit still works after taping down the battery.
