Overview

This robust n8n workflow serves as an automated reporting engine for analyzing n8n community creators and the usage statistics of their shared n8n templates. The workflow solves the challenge of manually aggregating and interpreting large datasets by integrating multiple AI models (OpenAI and Google Gemini) as agents. The core value lies in its ability to fetch raw statistics, process and sort the data (identifying top creators and the most popular n8n templates), and instruct an AI agent to generate a detailed, human-readable report summarizing community trends and creator impact. This comprehensive n8n node setup ensures daily delivery of critical insights via email and cloud storage.

How it Works

This highly advanced n8n workflow operates in two primary modes: scheduled execution for reporting, and as an externally callable tool for the AI Agent.

1. Data Aggregation (Tool Mode)

The internal segment of the n8n workflow is designed to function as an AI tool called n8ncreatorstats. Triggered either by the daily schedule or the AI Agent's request, the flow proceeds:

  1. Global Variables defines the GitHub repository path where raw statistics on n8n creators and n8n templates are stored.

  2. Two HTTP Request n8n node operations fetch the latest creator and workflow JSON data.

  3. The data streams are parsed, split, and individual statistics are mapped (using Set nodes).

  4. The workflow sorts the data to identify the Top 10 Creators and Top 50 Workflows based on weekly inserter metrics, using the Sort and Limit n8n node combination.

  5. A Merge n8n node combines the processed creator and workflow data, which is then aggregated and returned as the response to the AI Agent.

2. AI Reporting and Delivery (Scheduled Mode)

  1. The Schedule Trigger initiates the daily report generation.

  2. The n8n Creators Stats Agent (LangChain Agent n8n node) uses the gpt-4o-mini model and is instructed to generate a comprehensive Markdown report. It uses the internal n8ncreatorstats tool (the data flow described above) to retrieve the processed statistics.

  3. The full Markdown report is then shared via three channels:

Saved locally (using the Read/Write File n8n node).
Uploaded to Google Drive.
* Converted to HTML and sent via the Gmail n8n node.

  1. In parallel, a second LLM Chain (Create Top 10 Workflows List) uses the Google Gemini model to analyze the main report and extract a concise list of the Top 10 n8n templates and their hyperlinks.

  2. This concise list is delivered via Telegram and converted to HTML for a separate report sent using the Gmail n8n node.

Installation Guide

To deploy this powerful n8n workflow and start generating community reports, follow these steps:

  1. Import the n8n Workflow: Copy the provided JSON and import it into your n8n instance via the 'Workflows' menu.

  2. Set up Credentials: This n8n workflow requires credentials for the following services:

OpenAI: For the gpt-4o-mini Agent and LLM configuration.
Google Gemini (PaLM/AI Studio): Used in the Create Top 10 Workflows List chain.
Gmail: Required for sending the report and the Top 10 list (Update sendTo parameters in the Gmail n8n node instances).
Google Drive: Required for saving the report to the cloud.
* Telegram (Optional): Required if you intend to use the Telegram Top 10 Workflows List n8n node. You must set the TELEGRAMCHATID environment variable or directly in the node parameters.

  1. Tool Configuration: Ensure the Workflow Tool n8n node is correctly linked back to this specific workflow ID, allowing the AI Agent to call it for data retrieval.

  2. Activation: Activate the n8n workflow. The Schedule Trigger is configured to run daily at 22:00.

Node Details

Schedule Trigger: Acts as the primary n8n trigger, initiating the report process daily at 22:00.
HTTP Request (statsaggregatecreators/workflows): These n8n node instances retrieve raw statistics about n8n creators and n8n templates from a specific GitHub repository.
Set (Global Variables): Defines crucial dynamic values like the base repository path and file names used by subsequent HTTP Request n8n node operations.
Split Out/Sort/Limit Nodes: Core data manipulation nodes that structure and refine the data, specifically isolating the Top 10 creators and Top 50 n8n templates based on weekly insertion metrics.
n8n Creators Stats Agent (LangChain Agent): The primary AI logic node. It uses the gpt-4o-mini language model and the internal Workflow Tool to generate a detailed, structured Markdown report based on the aggregated community data. This node defines the comprehensive prompt structure for the output.
Workflow Tool (n8ncreatorstats): This n8n node registers the current workflow's data aggregation logic as a tool the AI Agent can call, providing access to real-time, processed stats.
Create Top 10 Workflows List (Chain LLM): This n8n node utilizes the Google Gemini chat model to concisely summarize the AI Agent's output, focusing only on extracting a list of the 10 most popular n8n templates with hyperlinks.
Gmail Creators & Workflows Report / Gmail Top 10 Workflows List: Dedicated n8n node instances responsible for emailing the detailed report and the concise Top 10 list, utilizing HTML formatting for clean delivery.
