Overview

This sophisticated n8n workflow transforms incoming chat messages into deep financial analysis reports. It utilizes the powerful capabilities of LangChain Agents within n8n, allowing the system to intelligently decide which tool to use—be it fetching real-time technical chart data (via the Tradingview HTTP requests) or conducting broad, up-to-date research via Perplexity. The core value of this n8n template is its ability to maintain conversational context using the Window Buffer Memory n8n node, enabling follow-up questions and complex analytical threads. The entire process is orchestrated by the Technical Analyst Leader agent, making complex financial data synthesis seamless within the n8n ecosystem. This advanced n8n workflow demonstrates how to integrate cutting-edge AI models and specialized web services.

How it Works

The n8n workflow begins with two potential triggers: the When chat message received n8n trigger for external interaction, or the When Executed by Another Workflow n8n trigger for internal use.

  1. Agent Activation: An incoming request flows into the Technical Analyst Leader agent. This agent, powered by the Sonnet 37 LLM and supported by the Window Buffer Memory n8n node, analyzes the user's intent.

  2. Tool Selection: The agent determines whether to use the Technical Analysis Tool (which handles charting requests), the Perplexity Tool (for general research), or the Gmail tool (for searching documents).

  3. Conditional Routing: If the workflow is executed internally (via the secondary n8n trigger), the Switch n8n node routes the execution. Path 1 handles specific lookups, and Path 2 handles general Perplexity research.

  4. Specific Analysis Path (Path 1): The Lookup Exchange LangChain Chain uses a Perplexity Sonar model and a Structured Output Parser n8n node to correctly identify the necessary financial instruments. This is followed by HTTP requests (Tradingview Chart and Download Chart) to retrieve technical chart information.

  5. Synthesis: The subsequent LangChain Chain (Extract analyst question and management response) utilizes the retrieved chart data and another LLM (Sonnet 3_7) to generate a concise, professional analysis. The result is finalized in the Set 'response' value n8n node.

  6. General Research Path (Path 2): If the query is non-technical, a direct HTTP Request to the Perplexity API is made, and the output is prepared by the Response n8n node.

This comprehensive n8n workflow ensures all inputs result in a highly structured, context-aware AI response.

Installation Guide

To implement this n8n template, follow these steps:

  1. Import the Workflow: Copy the provided n8n workflow JSON and import it into your n8n instance using the 'New' -> 'Import from JSON' function.

  2. Credential Setup: You must configure credentials for the specialized n8n node components:

OpenRouter: Set up credentials for the 'Sonnet 37' and 'Sonnet 3_7' nodes, ensuring you have access to the necessary LLMs.
Perplexity: Set up credentials for the Perplexity HTTP Request node and the underlying LLM used in the Perplexity Sonar chain.
* Gmail: Configure the Gmail connection if the agent is intended to search your email for documents.

  1. Tool Workflow Linking: Ensure the Technical Analysis Tool and Perplexity Tool LangChain Tool n8n node components are correctly linked to sub-workflows (if they are separate n8n templates) or configured to execute their intended logic.

  2. Testing: Manually execute the When chat message received n8n trigger or the When Executed by Another Workflow n8n trigger to confirm all connections and logic branches of the n8n workflow are functioning correctly.

Node Details

When chat message received (LangChain Chat Trigger): The starting n8n trigger for external conversational interaction. It acts as the primary entry point for the AI agent.
Technical Analyst Leader (LangChain Agent): The primary brain of this n8n workflow. It uses the Sonnet 37 LLM and various tools to execute complex decision-making and response generation.
Window Buffer Memory (LangChain Memory): A crucial n8n node that maintains the conversation history, allowing the AI agent to refer to previous turns and contexts for coherent analysis.
Technical Analysis Tool (LangChain Tool): An n8n node configured to execute a specific sub-workflow dedicated to fetching and processing technical market data.
Perplexity Tool (LangChain Tool): An n8n node configured to execute a specific sub-workflow to leverage Perplexity's deep search capabilities for general market research.
Lookup Exchange (LangChain Chain): This n8n node uses the Perplexity Sonar LLM alongside a Structured Output Parser to ensure precise extraction of financial symbols and exchanges from the user query before charting.
Tradingview Chart / Download Chart (HTTP Request): Standard HTTP Request n8n node components used to interface with the TradingView API or similar services to retrieve and download technical charts.
Extract analyst question and management response (LangChain Chain): The final synthesis n8n node, integrating all gathered data (including charts) to format the final, professional response using the Sonnet 3_7 model.
