Overview

Managing content synchronization across video platforms like YouTube and blog platforms like WordPress or Webflow is time-consuming. This comprehensive n8n workflow solves this by fully automating the content pipeline. It leverages an n8n trigger based on an RSS feed check to detect new videos. Once detected, the video metadata is passed to the OpenAI n8n node, which executes an advanced prompt to draft a high-quality, 600-800 word blog post. The generated content is formatted, converted to HTML, and simultaneously published to both WordPress and Webflow. This high-efficiency n8n template includes robust error handling, notifying administrators via Telegram if any publishing step fails, ensuring operational reliability for this critical content flow.

How it Works

  1. Scheduled Check (n8n trigger): The process initiates with the Weekly RSS Check n8n trigger, which executes the Monitor YouTube Feed n8n node (RSS Feed Read) to check the specified YouTube channel ID for new entries.

  2. Batch Processing: The Process Each Video n8n node (Split In Batches) handles multiple new videos efficiently, ensuring each item follows the entire publishing path independently.

  3. Data Enrichment: The Get video details n8n node uses the video ID from the RSS feed to fetch complete video descriptions and high-resolution thumbnail URLs using the YouTube API.

  4. Metadata Extraction: The Extract Video Data n8n node organizes the incoming fields (title, URL, description, thumbnail) and creates a clean, SEO-friendly slug, preparing the data for the next n8n node.

  5. AI Generation: The AI Blog Generator (OpenAI n8n node) receives the organized data. It uses a detailed system prompt instructing it to create a well-structured, lengthy blog post in Markdown format, specifically targeting 600-800 words.

  6. Content Preparation: The Format Blog Post n8n node cleans up the AI response, extracting the blog title and content (removing surrounding markdown structure tags). The Convert to HTML n8n node then transforms the Markdown content into the required HTML format for the CMS platforms.

  7. Multi-Platform Publishing: The n8n workflow then branches to publish the content using the Publish to WordPress n8n node and the Publish to Webflow n8n node simultaneously.

  8. Error Notifications: Should either publishing n8n node fail (due to connection or API error), the separate error flow is automatically directed to the Telegram n8n node (Send Error Notification/Alert), ensuring immediate visibility into workflow issues.

Installation Guide

To deploy this powerful n8n workflow, follow these steps:

  1. Import the n8n template: Copy the provided JSON code and import it directly into your n8n instance using the 'Import Workflow' function.

  2. Configure the YouTube Trigger: In the Monitor YouTube Feed n8n node (RSS Feed Read), replace the dummy channelid in the URL with your actual YouTube channel ID.

  3. Set up OpenAI Credentials: Connect your OpenAI API key to the AI Blog Generator n8n node. This is crucial for the generative content step.

  4. Set up CMS Credentials:

For the Publish to WordPress n8n node, connect your WordPress API credentials and adjust category and tag IDs as needed.
For the Publish to Webflow n8n node, connect your Webflow OAuth2 credentials and update the Site ID and Collection ID to match your Webflow CMS structure.

  1. Configure Error Alerts (Optional but recommended): Connect your Telegram API credentials to the Telegram n8n nodes and set the appropriate CHATID where alerts should be received.

  2. Activate: Save the n8n workflow and set it to active. We recommend running a test execution manually first to confirm all API connections.

Node Details

Weekly RSS Check (Schedule Trigger n8n trigger): Defines the schedule for the automated n8n workflow execution, ensuring the channel is polled regularly.
Monitor YouTube Feed (RSS Feed Read n8n node): The initial data input. It polls the custom YouTube RSS URL, acting as the primary n8n trigger condition for new videos.
Get video details (YouTube n8n node): Uses the video ID to pull comprehensive data, including full descriptions often missing from the RSS feed, improving the context available to the AI.
AI Blog Generator (OpenAI n8n node): The core intelligence of this n8n workflow. It uses GPT-4.1-mini with a detailed system prompt to create structured, 600-800 word blog content in Markdown format.
Convert to HTML (Markdown n8n node): Essential for CMS compatibility, this n8n node converts the Markdown output from the AI n8n node into ready-to-use HTML, streamlining the publishing process.
Publish to WordPress (WordPress n8n node): Handles the final posting to WordPress. Key configurations include dynamic mapping for title, slug, content, and predefined category/tag IDs. It is configured to continue on error.
Publish to Webflow (Webflow n8n node): Handles parallel posting to Webflow CMS. It maps input fields to the required Webflow collection fields, including page-content and featured-image.
Send Error Notification/Alert (Telegram n8n node): Part of the robust error handling strategy. These nodes activate only upon failure of a publishing n8n node, sending detailed failure messages via Telegram.
