Overview

Scaling high-quality content production is a major challenge. This sophisticated n8n workflow solves this by utilizing a multi-agent LLM system to handle the entire content pipeline, from research to final publication. The process is initiated by an n8n trigger (a simple form submission), which feeds keywords and style guidelines into an AI orchestration engine. This core n8n node coordinates specialized sub-agents (for outlining, writing, editing, and metadata generation) and ensures the output meets professional standards, including proper HTML formatting and citation rules. Crucially, the n8n workflow includes conditional logic to generate a unique featured image using DALL-E and automatically upload and attach it to the new WordPress post, providing a true end-to-end automation solution based on a powerful n8n template.

How it Works

The process is initiated by the On form submission n8n trigger, collecting user inputs like keywords, writing style, and image generation preference.

  1. Data Initialization: The db n8n node captures all inputs and variables.

  2. Research Phase: The GetOnilneInfo AI agent uses real-time search capabilities to gather competitive data, top search questions, and sources relevant to the keywords. This feeds high-quality, current data into the creative process.

  3. Orchestration: The OrchestrationAgent is the core of this n8n workflow. It uses GPT-4 to direct a sequence of specialized toolWorkflow n8n nodes: OutlinePlanner, createSections, SectionWriter, Editor, MetaInfo, and ImagePrompt. Each n8n node handles a specific step of content creation, ensuring structure and quality.

  4. Output Parsing & Validation: The output is structured JSON containing the final HTML post, SEO metadata, and a 'ready' flag. The Check ready for publish n8n node validates this flag.

  5. Image Generation (Conditional): If the user specified generating an image, the If n8n node directs the flow to the Generate Featured Image n8n node (using OpenAI/DALL-E), which creates a 1024x1024 image. This image is resized, uploaded to WordPress via the Upload Image To WP HTTP Request n8n node, and its metadata is updated.

  6. Publishing: The content is posted to WordPress using the Post Blog To WP n8n node. If an image was generated, subsequent steps (Set Featured Image) use the post ID to link the newly uploaded image as the featured media. If no image was requested, the text content is published directly via a separate WordPress n8n node. This complete n8n workflow delivers a seamless publishing experience.

Installation Guide

  1. Import: Copy the entire n8n workflow JSON provided and paste it into your n8n instance's canvas using the 'Import from JSON' option.

  2. Credentials: This n8n workflow requires three main credentials:

WordPress API: Set up credentials for your WordPress site, ensuring you have API access (often via Application Passwords or OAuth). This is needed for the WordPress n8n node and HTTP Request nodes.
OpenAI API: Set up your OpenAI API key for the AI Agents and the DALL-E Generate Featured Image n8n node.
* OpenRouter API: Set up your OpenRouter API key, specifically used here for the GetOnilneInfo agent to leverage online models for research.

  1. Sub-Workflows: Note that the Orchestration Agent uses several toolWorkflow n8n nodes (OutlinePlanner, SectionWriter, etc.). This means the full solution requires importing these sub-workflows into your n8n instance as well. Ensure their IDs match those referenced in the main n8n workflow JSON, or update the workflowId parameter in the toolWorkflow n8n node settings to point to your imported sub-workflows.

  2. Trigger Setup: Activate the On form submission n8n trigger to generate a unique public URL for launching the content generation process.

Node Details

On form submission (n8n trigger): The starting point of the n8n workflow. Gathers necessary inputs (Keywords, Website URL, Writing Style) from a user-friendly form interface, initiating the automated process.
GetOnilneInfo (AI Agent): Performs targeted research based on input keywords, utilizing an external LLM (via OpenRouter) to gather real-time data, FAQs, and sources required for generating authoritative content.
OrchestrationAgent (AI Agent): The primary control n8n node. It manages the content creation pipeline by sequentially calling specialized sub-workflows (toolWorkflow n8n nodes) to plan, write, edit, and finalize the blog post content and metadata. Uses the OpenAI Chat Model (GPT-4) as its LLM.
Structured Output Parser1 (Output Parser n8n node): Ensures the complex JSON output from the OrchestrationAgent (containing HTML, metadata, and image prompts) is correctly structured and validated for downstream nodes.
Check ready for publish (If n8n node): A logic gate that halts the n8n workflow if the AI agent indicates the content generation failed (ready: false).
If (n8n node): Checks the user input to determine if a featured image needs to be generated, directing the flow to DALL-E or skipping directly to publishing.
Generate Featured Image (OpenAI n8n node): Uses DALL-E 3 to create a high-quality, realistic image based on the AI-generated prompt.
Resize Image (Edit Image n8n node): Optimizes the large DALL-E image file before upload.
Upload Image To WP (HTTP Request n8n node): Uploads the binary image data to the WordPress media library using the WordPress API credentials defined in the n8n template.
Post Blog To WP (WordPress n8n node): Creates the new blog post draft in WordPress, inserting the generated HTML content and SEO metadata.

  • Set Featured Image (HTTP Request n8n node): Final step in the image branch, associating the media ID with the new post ID via a final WordPress API call.
