Overview

Creating authentic, high-quality User-Generated Content (UGC) is crucial for modern marketing, but manual creation can be costly and time-consuming. This specialized n8n workflow solves this by providing a fully automated pipeline for image generation. By simply dropping a product image (preferably on a white background) into a monitored Google Drive folder, the entire process—from generating creative prompts using Mistral to producing the final images via the Nano Banana model on Fal.ai—is handled automatically. This robust n8n workflow delivers substantial cost savings (estimated at $0.039 per image) and massive speed improvements, making it one of the most effective n8n templates for visual marketing automation. Every step of this powerful automation is managed by an integrated n8n node sequence.

How it Works

This specialized n8n workflow initiates every time a new file is uploaded to a specific folder in Google Drive, acting as the primary n8n trigger.

  1. Trigger and Setup: The Google Drive Trigger fires upon a new file upload. Immediately, the Setup n8n node securely injects the necessary Fal.ai API key for subsequent steps.

  2. Prompt Generation: The Generate Prompts n8n node, powered by the Mistral Cloud Chat Model and the Structured Output Parser, analyzes the uploaded product name. It generates 50 creative, diverse, and realistic UGC scenarios (prompts) structured precisely in JSON format.

  3. Iteration Preparation: The Split Out node extracts the 50 prompts, and the Loop Over Items (Split In Batches) n8n node ensures that each prompt is processed individually.

  4. Image Synthesis: For each prompt, the Generate Image HTTP Request node calls the Fal.ai API (gemini-25-flash-image/edit). It combines the current UGC text prompt with the public URL of the original base image uploaded to Google Drive.

  5. Image Retrieval: Following generation, the Retrieve Image HTTP Request node fetches the binary data of the newly created image from Fal.ai.

  6. Final Storage: Finally, the Upload file Google Drive n8n node saves the high-quality generated UGC image back into the original Google Drive folder. The file is named using the original product name combined with the prompt number for easy identification.

Installation Guide

To deploy this automated n8n workflow, follow these steps:

  1. Import the n8n template: Copy the provided JSON and paste it into your n8n instance using the 'Import Workflow' feature.

  2. Google Drive Credentials: Create or select an existing OAuth2 credential for Google Drive. Ensure the folder designated in the Google Drive Trigger is set up for public sharing, as the Fal.ai service needs external access to the base image URL.

  3. Mistral Cloud Credentials: Set up your API key credential for the Mistral Cloud Chat Model n8n node.

  4. Fal.ai API Key: Navigate to the Setup (Set) n8n node and replace [YOURAPIKEY] with your actual Fal.ai API Key.

  5. Folder Configuration: In the Google Drive Trigger n8n node and the Upload file n8n node, select the exact Google Drive folder you wish to monitor for base product images and where the generated UGC should be saved.

  6. Activate: Save and activate the n8n workflow. It is now ready to run whenever a new product image is uploaded.

Node Details

This n8n workflow utilizes several key nodes to achieve complex automation:

Google Drive Trigger: The starting n8n trigger, configured to watch a specific folder for new fileCreated events, initiating the UGC generation process.
Setup (Set node): Used to define the critical FalAPIKey using an expression, ensuring secure access to the image generation service.
Generate Prompts (Chain LLM node): This advanced n8n node orchestrates the LLM interaction (Mistral), using detailed system instructions to generate 50 structured UGC text prompts based on the uploaded product's name.
Mistral Cloud Chat Model: The specific language model n8n node used for high-quality, creative prompt generation.
Structured Output Parser: Ensures the Mistral output strictly adheres to the required JSON schema, critical for the next n8n node, Split Out.
Loop Over Items (Split In Batches): A core logic n8n node that converts the array of 50 prompts into 50 individual items, allowing the n8n workflow to process and generate one image per prompt.
Generate Image (HTTP Request): Sends the generated prompt and the original image URL to the Fal.ai Nano Banana image editing API.
Upload file (Google Drive): The final n8n node, responsible for taking the AI-generated image file and saving it back into the user's defined Google Drive folder.
