What is Aegis Security Free?

Aegis Security Free is an AI-agent-ready blockchain security API for performing read-only risk checks before transactions. It evaluates wallet address reputation and token contract behavior, returning structured safety indicators, risk levels, and threat signals for Ethereum and Base.

As an Openclaw Skills integration, it helps developers and automation workflows add a practical security gate without building blockchain threat-analysis logic from scratch. The free tier provides up to 100 checks per day per client fingerprint, while results include machine-readable metadata and error information for reliable downstream decisions.

Aegis Security Free Use Cases

  • Validate a recipient wallet before initiating a transfer or payment.
  • Screen an Ethereum or Base token contract for honeypot behavior before purchase.
  • Detect high or critical threat signals and pause an AI-agent transaction for human review.
  • Monitor daily API quota usage and plan automated security checks.
  • Add a lightweight blockchain compliance or security checkpoint to an agent workflow.
  • Use structured security results in dashboards, logs, approval systems, or automated decision pipelines.
  • Support Chinese-language agent interactions and cross-platform workflows on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Use Openclaw Skills to integrate basic blockchain checks into development, operations, and automation processes.

How Aegis Security Free Works

  1. The agent receives an input string containing the blockchain security request, with optional options and callback_url values.
  2. The workflow authenticates against the security API using the configured API key and identifies the caller with X-Client-Fingerprint.
  3. For address screening, it calls GET /v1/check-address/:address with chain_id=1 for Ethereum or chain_id=8453 for Base.
  4. For token screening, it calls GET /v1/check-token/:address with the supported chain ID and evaluates honeypot probability, risk level, and threat signals.
  5. The API returns an isSafe boolean, a severity classification, and supporting signals that the agent can use for allow, review, or block decisions.
  6. The agent can call GET /v1/usage to read the current daily limit, usage count, remaining checks, and UTC reset time.
  7. The result is normalized into a structured response containing success status, result data, execution metadata, an execution log, and an error field.
  8. The agent applies the safety policy: LOW may proceed, MEDIUM requires review, HIGH should be blocked pending confirmation, and CRITICAL should be blocked as unsafe.
  9. The workflow records request metadata and handles authentication failures, rate limits, timeouts, network errors, and invalid inputs with retry or troubleshooting logic.

Aegis Security Free Setup

Aegis Security Free works with any AI agent platform that supports SKILL.md, including Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, and Openclaw Skills-compatible runtimes. It supports Windows, macOS, and Linux.

  1. Install or register the skill in your agent's skill directory using the standard installation process for your agent platform.
  2. Ensure the agent runtime provides an LLM API, which is the only documented runtime dependency.
  3. Configure the required API key as an environment variable. Do not hard-code credentials or commit them to source control.
export API_KEY="${API_KEY:?Please set the API_KEY environment variable}"
  1. Restart the agent session or open a new terminal so the environment variable is available.
  2. Provide an input value for each request. Optionally include options for mode or formatting preferences and callback_url for asynchronous completion notifications.
  3. Send X-Client-Fingerprint with requests when possible to ensure stable quota accounting.
  4. Replace the API host in the following examples with the endpoint supplied by your deployment:
curl "https://security-api.example.com/v1/usage" \
  -H "X-API-Key: $API_KEY" \
  -H "X-Client-Fingerprint: agent-default"

curl "https://security-api.example.com/v1/check-address/0x742d35Cc6634C0532925a3b844Bc454e4438f44e?chain_id=8453" \
  -H "X-API-Key: $API_KEY" \
  -H "X-Client-Fingerprint: agent-default"

curl "https://security-api.example.com/v1/check-token/0xA0b86991c6218b36c1d19D4a2e9Eb0cE3606eB48?chain_id=1" \
  -H "X-API-Key: $API_KEY" \
  -H "X-Client-Fingerprint: agent-default"

The free tier is limited to 100 checks per day per fingerprint and resets at 00:00 UTC. If no fingerprint is provided, quota identification may fall back to IP address and User-Agent, which can be less stable.

Aegis Security Free Data Schema & Taxonomy

Request parameters

Field Type Required Purpose
input string Yes Blockchain security input, command, or request data.
options object No Additional mode, formatting, or behavior settings.
callback_url string No URL for asynchronous completion notifications.
chain_id query parameter For chain checks 1 for Ethereum or 8453 for Base in the free tier.
X-Client-Fingerprint header Recommended Stable identity used for daily quota tracking.

Address-check response concepts

  • isSafe: Boolean safety decision.
  • riskLevel: LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH, or CRITICAL.
  • threatSignals: List of detected reputation or threat indicators.
  • Request metadata may include a request ID, service tier, and latency.

Token-check response concepts

  • Honeypot probability or honeypot assessment.
  • riskLevel: Overall contract risk classification.
  • threatSignals: Indicators such as unusually high buy tax, sell restrictions, or other suspicious behavior.

Usage response

Field Meaning
freeTier.enabled Whether the free quota is active.
dailyLimit Maximum checks available per day; documented value is 100.
usedToday Number of checks already consumed.
remainingChecks Calls remaining before the UTC reset.
nextResetAt UTC timestamp for the next quota reset.
resetTimezone Reset timezone, documented as UTC.

Standard wrapper
