What is Agent Telegram LITE?

Agent Telegram LITE is a lightweight communication specification for Openclaw Skills that routes AI-agent messages to Telegram through the platform's message tool. It maps three supported roles—main, backend, and frontend—to dedicated accountId values and emoji identifiers, helping recipients immediately understand which agent sent an update.

The skill focuses on single-agent notifications and basic task reporting. It provides consistent task-start and task-completion templates, fixed Telegram targeting, input and response conventions, troubleshooting guidance, and deployment requirements for AI coding agents running on Windows, macOS, or Linux.

Agent Telegram LITE Use Cases

  • Send a task-start notification when an AI agent accepts a new assignment.
  • Report backend API implementation progress with an agent-specific emoji and documentation path.
  • Notify users when frontend work, such as a login page, is complete.
  • Provide concise completion summaries containing finished subtasks and output file locations.
  • Standardize Telegram delivery across compatible Openclaw Skills and AI agent environments.
  • Reduce routing mistakes caused by missing account identifiers, incorrect targets, or inconsistent message formats.
  • Use as a simple single-agent communication layer when multi-role orchestration is not required.

How Agent Telegram LITE Works

  1. The agent receives an input string and optional options or callback_url values.
  2. The workflow identifies the sending role and selects its mapped accountId: default for main, backend for backend, or frontend for frontend.
  3. The agent creates a message payload with action: "send", channel: "telegram", the selected accountId, the fixed target 5440561025, and the message body.
  4. The message follows either the task-start template or the task-completion template, including the role emoji and relevant task details.
  5. The configured Agent platform invokes the message tool and routes the request through the Telegram Bot API.
  6. The agent checks the result and continues with any required follow-up processing.
  7. The platform returns a structured result containing success status, execution timing, metadata, an execution log, and an error value when applicable.
  8. If delivery fails, troubleshoot the account mapping, Telegram configuration, target value, network access, message length, and platform logs.

Agent Telegram LITE Setup

  1. Use an AI agent platform that supports SKILL.md instructions and provides the message tool.
  2. Create a Telegram bot with @BotFather and securely obtain its Bot Token.
  3. Configure the Telegram account in the Agent platform configuration. The documented configuration uses a platform JSON file such as ~/.skill-platform/skill-platform.json; verify the exact path used by your installation.
  4. Store the token under the Telegram account identified by the relevant accountId.
  5. Confirm that the platform exposes Telegram messaging and can reach https://api.telegram.org.
  6. Invoke the skill from an AI Agent conversation with the required input value.
  7. Test one short message before enabling automated task notifications.

Example configuration path check:

ls -la ~/.skill-platform/skill-platform.json

Example message invocation:

message({
  action: "send",
  channel: "telegram",
  accountId: "backend",
  target: "5440561025",
message: "🔧 API implementation completed. Documentation: ~/Desktop/project/docs/backend/api.md"
})

Required dependencies include the Agent platform's message tool, a Telegram Bot Token, the platform configuration file, network access to the Telegram Bot API, and an LLM-enabled agent capable of following the skill instructions. Never hard-code secrets in source files or message content.

Agent Telegram LITE Data Schema & Taxonomy

Input schema

Field Type Required Purpose
input string Yes Agent TG LITE input data or command.
options object No Additional mode, formatting, or preference settings.
callback_url string No URL for asynchronous completion notification.

Account and routing taxonomy

Agent role accountId Emoji Supported purpose
main default 🤖 Primary controller or coordinating agent.
backend backend 🔧 Backend and API implementation updates.
frontend frontend 🎨 Frontend and interface implementation updates.

The default Telegram target is 5440561025. Every outbound message must use the message tool, channel: "telegram", a valid accountId, and the fixed target. Telegram messages are limited to 4,096 characters, so longer content must be split into multiple messages.

Message structures

  • Task start: <emoji> Received task: <task name> followed by 📝 Starting execution....
  • Task completion: <emoji> <task name> completed followed by ✅ Completed: <subtask> and 📁 Output: <file path>.

Response schema

The documented response contains success, data.result, data.execution_time, data.metadata.version, data.metadata.processor, execution_log, and error. The skill does not define a persistent database or generate a dedicated artifact directory; output is primarily delivered through Telegram and represented in the Agent platform response and logs.

Configuration metadata

  • Telegram credentials are associated with channels.telegram.accounts.<accountId>.token.
  • The skill version is 1.0.0.
  • The documented processor is agent-telegram.
  • The implementation is Markdown-driven with execution support for the platform's messaging tool.

Agent Telegram LITE Advanced Features

  • Role-aware account routing for main, backend, and frontend agents.
  • Emoji-based sender identification for faster human recognition in Telegram.
  • Standardized task-start and task-completion notification templates.
  • Optional options settings for formatting or mode preferences.
  • Optional callback_url support for asynchronous completion notifications.
  • Structured execution metadata with processing time, version information, logs, and error reporting.
  • Cross-platform operation on Windows, macOS, and Linux with compatible AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and Gemini CLI.
  • Operational troubleshooting for authentication failures, rate limits, timeouts, missing files, permission errors, and network failures.
  • Security guidance for HTTPS communication, token protection, restricted command execution, output sanitization, and access auditing.
  • Compatibility with Openclaw Skills workflows that need predictable Telegram delivery without building a separate notification service.
  • Lightweight design suitable for single-agent messaging and basic progress reporting, while explicitly excluding multi-agent collaboration, issue-escalation workflows, attachment delivery, and expanded role taxonomies available in the paid edition.
