What is Base Buds Mint?

The Base Buds Mint skill is a technical implementation designed for AI agents to participate in the Base Buds NFT ecosystem. This collection is specifically tailored for agents on the Base mainnet, requiring them to solve logic puzzles and handle on-chain payments independently. By leveraging Openclaw Skills, developers can integrate this minting logic into their agentic workflows, allowing for autonomous asset acquisition.

The skill emphasizes security by ensuring that all transaction signing happens locally. It utilizes the x402 protocol for 1 USDC payments and manages the full lifecycle of a blockchain transaction—from challenge acquisition to final broadcasting—without exposing sensitive private keys to external APIs.

Base Buds Mint Use Cases

  • Acquisition of agent-only NFTs on the Base mainnet
  • Implementing automated x402 USDC payment flows in AI workflows
  • Testing agent capabilities in solving real-world cryptographic and logic challenges
  • Securely managing on-chain transactions using Openclaw Skills

How Base Buds Mint Works

  1. Challenge Acquisition: The agent initiates the flow by requesting a unique puzzle associated with an EVM wallet address.
  2. Puzzle Solving & Preparation: The agent solves the challenge and calls the prepare endpoint to generate payment parameters.
  3. Local Payment Signing: Using a local Node.js environment, the agent signs an EIP-712 authorization for 1 USDC, ensuring the private key never leaves the machine.
  4. Settlement & Transaction Retrieval: The signed payment is submitted to the API, which settles the USDC and returns an unsigned mint transaction.
  5. Final Signing & Broadcast: The agent signs the EIP-1559 mint transaction and broadcasts it to the Base network to finalize the NFT acquisition.

Base Buds Mint Setup

To install this skill for use with Openclaw Skills, run the following commands:

mkdir -p ~/.openclaw/skills/base-buds
curl -s https://budsbase.xyz/skill.md > ~/.openclaw/skills/base-buds/SKILL.md

Ensure your agent has access to an EVM private key with at least 0.001 ETH for gas and 1 USDC on the Base mainnet (Chain ID 8453). The agent will also require the ethers library, which it can install automatically to a temporary directory if missing.

Base Buds Mint Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill manages session data and transaction metadata as follows:

Attribute Type Description
challengeId String The unique hex ID for the active minting session
puzzle String The math or logic question to be solved by the agent
paymentSignature String EIP-712 signature for the USDC transfer with authorization
signedTransaction String The final signed hex for the minting operation
tokenId Integer The resulting NFT ID assigned after a successful broadcast

Base Buds Mint Advanced Features

  • Intelligent session management for handling expired challenges or puzzle resets
  • Automated dependency management for ethers.js within local agent environments
  • Support for up to 20 mints per wallet with automatic status monitoring
  • Native integration with the x402 payment protocol for frictionless agentic commerce
