What is Bot9?

Bot9 is a comprehensive platform designed for building and deploying conversational AI chatbots that automate customer service, sales, and marketing interactions. By utilizing this skill within Openclaw Skills, developers can programmatically manage Bot9 data and records. The integration is powered by Membrane, which simplifies the developer experience by handling the complexities of authentication, credential refreshing, and API connectivity, allowing your agents to focus on high-level logic rather than infrastructure.

Bot9 Use Cases

  • Automating customer support interactions across websites and messaging platforms.
  • Scaling sales outreach by initiating new chatbot conversations programmatically.
  • Synchronizing Bot9 account and chatbot metadata with internal databases.
  • Sending automated notifications or chat messages based on external triggers within Openclaw Skills.

How Bot9 Works

  1. The Membrane CLI is initialized and authenticated to establish a secure environment for the agent.
  2. A connection to the Bot9 domain is ensured, triggering the OAuth or API key handshake.
  3. The agent polls the connection status until the state is verified as READY.
  4. Specific actions like Send Chat Message or Get Account are discovered using natural language intent searches.
  5. The skill executes the selected action or sends a proxied request to the Bot9 API, returning structured JSON data.

Bot9 Setup

To begin using Bot9 with Openclaw Skills, install the Membrane CLI and authenticate:

npm install -g @membranehq/cli@latest
membrane login --tenant --clientName=openclaw

Connect to the Bot9 service:

membrane connection ensure "https://bot9.ai/" --json

If the connection state is BUILDING, wait for it to become READY:

npx @membranehq/cli connection get <id> --wait --json

Bot9 Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill organizes its data and interactions based on the following taxonomy:

Component Type Description
Connection ID String A unique identifier for the authenticated Bot9 instance.
Action Schema JSON Object Defines the required inputs (e.g., message content) and expected outputs.
Input Schema YAML/JSON The parameters accepted by specific actions like init-chat.
Output Field JSON The raw or structured response from the Bot9 API.

Bot9 Advanced Features

  • Automatic credential management that handles token refreshes without manual intervention.
  • Natural language action discovery to find the best API endpoints for specific tasks.
  • Transparent proxy requests that inject authentication headers into direct API calls automatically.
  • Support for headless environment authentication via authorization URLs, ideal for Openclaw Skills deployments.
