What is CIFER SDK?

The CIFER SDK is a specialized toolkit designed to provide high-level security for blockchain-based applications. By utilizing Openclaw Skills, developers can implement quantum-resistant encryption that combines ML-KEM-768 with AES-256-GCM. This skill manages the lifecycle of secrets, where public keys are stored on IPFS and private keys are sharded across secure enclave clusters, providing a robust defense against future quantum computing threats.

Integrating this skill allows for seamless encryption and decryption of both text payloads and large files across supported chains like Ethereum Mainnet, Sepolia, and Ternoa. It abstracts the complexity of on-chain key management and enclave synchronization, making it an essential asset for privacy-focused dApp development.

CIFER SDK Use Cases

  • Protecting sensitive user data in decentralized finance (DeFi) applications.
  • Securely storing and sharing encrypted files on-chain with quantum resistance.
  • Implementing delegated access control where third parties can decrypt data without owning the primary secret.
  • Automating secure communication channels between blockchain entities using Openclaw Skills.

How CIFER SDK Works

  1. Initialize the SDK by connecting to the CIFER Blackbox URL and selecting the appropriate chain ID.
  2. Configure a wallet signer using Ethers.js or a browser-based EIP-1193 adapter to authorize transactions.
  3. Create a new secret on-chain, which involves building and sending a transaction to the network controller.
  4. Poll the enclave cluster to ensure the secret and its associated key pairs are synchronized across the network.
  5. Use the SDK blackbox module to perform encryption on text or file blobs using the unique secret ID.
  6. Decrypt the data by verifying the signature of the owner or an authorized delegate through the secure enclave.

CIFER SDK Setup

To begin using this skill, install the necessary dependencies via npm:

npm install cifer-sdk ethers dotenv

Ensure your package.json is configured for ESM by adding "type": "module". You will need to initialize the SDK with the Blackbox URL:

import { createCiferSdk } from 'cifer-sdk';
const sdk = await createCiferSdk({
  blackboxUrl: 'https://cifer-blackbox.ternoa.dev:3010',
});

CIFER SDK Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill organizes data around on-chain secret identifiers and blackbox job statuses. Below is the primary data structure for secret management:

Attribute Description
secretId The unique BigInt identifier for the generated on-chain secret.
publicKeyCid The IPFS content identifier pointing to the secret's public key.
isSyncing A boolean indicating if the enclave cluster is still generating keys.
cifer A metadata object containing encryption parameters required for decryption.
jobId A unique string used to track the progress of asynchronous file encryption tasks.

CIFER SDK Advanced Features

  • Multi-chain support for Ethereum, Sepolia, and Ternoa, allowing for cross-chain security logic.
  • Sophisticated delegation system enabling the addition and removal of authorized decryptors via on-chain transactions.
  • Asynchronous job polling for large file encryption, supporting Blobs and Buffers in Node.js 18+ environments.
  • Built-in error handling for block freshness and stale RPC data with automatic retry mechanisms.
  • Secure server-side signer adapters to prevent private key exposure in frontend environments using Openclaw Skills.
