What is Claw Bootcamp?

Claw Bootcamp is a specialized skill designed to bridge the gap between initial setup and advanced usage of the OpenClaw ecosystem. By transforming technical education into a gamified quest, it ensures users understand the relationship between Gateways, Agents, and Channels. This Openclaw Skills entry provides a structured path for new users to gain confidence in AI-driven automation.

Throughout the experience, users earn digital rewards for completing technical challenges, ranging from basic interactions to complex multi-step automations. It serves as an essential tool for communities and developers looking to streamline the onboarding process for their AI agents.

Claw Bootcamp Use Cases

  • Guiding new users through their first interaction with an OpenClaw agent.
  • Educating users on the practical applications of Openclaw Skills and the Skill Market.
  • Teaching the syntax for web searches and file system management via natural language.
  • Demonstrating the power of persistent cron tasks and scheduling.
  • Testing a user's ability to combine multiple agent capabilities into a single workflow.

How Claw Bootcamp Works

  1. The user triggers the experience by saying keywords like bootcamp or start quest.
  2. The skill initializes a state tracking object in memory to monitor user progress across 7 distinct levels.
  3. Level 0 introduces the architecture (Gateway, Agent, Channel) and verifies connectivity.
  4. Levels 1 through 5 guide the user through specific functional tests, including web search, file I/O, cron jobs, and skill installation.
  5. The agent monitors the completion of these tasks in real-time, awarding progress markers upon successful execution.
  6. Level 6 presents a graduation challenge requiring the combination of multiple learned skills.
  7. Upon completion, the user is tagged as graduated in the metadata and receives a digital certificate/badge.

Claw Bootcamp Setup

To enable the bootcamp, ensure your agent has access to the configuration list. Install the skill via the OpenClaw CLI:

openclaw skills install claw-bootcamp

Trigger the onboarding by sending a message to your agent:

bootcamp

Claw Bootcamp Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill maintains a persistent state for each user to track progress and achievements. The schema is organized as follows:

Field Type Description

bootcamp.completed array List of level indices (0-6) finished by the user.
bootcamp.current integer The index of the level currently in progress.
bootcamp.graduated boolean Final status indicating completion of the graduation challenge.

Claw Bootcamp Advanced Features

  • State Persistence: Progress is saved in the memory system, allowing users to quit and resume across different sessions.
  • Dynamic Command Handling: Supports specialized commands like skip level, reset progress, or check status at any time.
  • Multi-Channel Support: Identifies and adapts explanations based on whether the user is on Telegram, Discord, or other supported platforms.
