What is cuishu?

cuishu is an Openclaw Skills workflow for transforming a book name into a practical, shareable knowledge asset. It retrieves source material when available, synthesizes a concise summary, extracts the three most important core viewpoints, and converts them into five concrete actions that readers can apply immediately.

It is designed for fast book comprehension, content curation, and visual knowledge packaging. With Openclaw Skills, cuishu also generates a high-quality infographic and formats the final output into a clean, consistent structure suitable for quick reading, sharing, and decision-making.

cuishu Use Cases

  • When a user asks to "read/extract/summarize" a specific book and wants the key essence fast.
  • When a user provides a book title and needs a concise overview plus actionable takeaways.
  • When a user requests a book infographic for sharing, publishing, or internal knowledge notes.
  • When a user wants to understand a book's core ideas without reading the full text.
  • When source material is available and needs to be distilled into accurate, book-faithful insights.
  • When source material is unavailable and the output must fall back to AI-based knowledge with confidence labeling.

How cuishu Works

  1. Receive the book title and identify the best source material strategy based on the book type.
  2. Fetch the book text or metadata when possible using web sources such as ctext, Project Gutenberg, or Douban book pages.
  3. If source material cannot be retrieved, proceed with AI-based extraction and mark the confidence as based on AI knowledge.
  4. Generate a 80-120 word summary that captures the book's theme, author context, and main content.
  5. Extract exactly three core viewpoints, each with a short title, a one-sentence thesis, and a brief explanation.
  6. Produce five actionable recommendations in a table, each pairing an action verb with a concrete implementation method.
  7. Build a high-quality infographic prompt containing the summary, viewpoints, recommendations, and a bilingual quote-style ending.
  8. Generate the infographic, then send it directly to the user through POPO file transfer while also preserving the text output.
  9. Return the final response in a fixed structure so the user gets both readable insights and a visual artifact.

cuishu Setup

  1. Ensure the AI coding environment has access to the required tools: web_fetch, image_generate, and POPO file transfer.
  2. Verify external content access for book pages and search sources.
  3. Confirm the image generation pipeline supports vertical poster output at 1024x1536.
  4. Ensure POPO sending is available through the Node script used by the skill.
  5. No local package installation is required in the skill itself, but the sending utility must be callable.
node scripts/send-popo-file.mjs "<filePath>" "<receiver>"
  1. When using the skill, provide a real book title for best results and let the workflow determine whether to use canonical text sources, book review pages, or AI fallback.
  2. If image generation fails, continue using the text output and inform the user that only the image step failed.

cuishu Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill produces a structured text report plus an infographic artifact. Its output taxonomy is intentionally fixed so Openclaw Skills can present consistent book intelligence.

Field / Section Purpose Content Rules
Title line Confirms completion and identifies the book Includes emoji + book name + completion state
Summary Short book essence 80-120 Chinese characters, objective and concise
Three core viewpoints Main conceptual extraction Exactly 3 items, each with title + thesis + explanation
Five actionable recommendations Practical application layer Table with serial number, action recommendation, and method
Closing quote Memorable takeaway One Chinese sentence plus one English sentence
Confidence tag Source reliability marker Used when content is based on AI knowledge rather than source text
Source label Provenance annotation One of: based on original text, based on Douban review, based on AI knowledge

Generated artifacts:

  • Text report in a fixed markdown-like structure.
  • Vertical infographic poster in 1024x1536 format.
  • Direct POPO-delivered image file.

Content organization rules:

  • Summary first, then insights, then actions.
  • No invented book facts when source material is absent.
  • Insight hierarchy must avoid repetition across the three viewpoints.
  • Recommendations must be executable and specific, not abstract.

cuishu Advanced Features

  • Multi-source retrieval strategy: chooses between classical texts, public-domain full text, Douban metadata, or AI fallback.
  • Source-aware confidence labeling to make knowledge provenance explicit.
  • Automatic infographic generation with a predefined visual hierarchy and bilingual closing quote.
  • Direct POPO file transfer for immediate delivery without manual confirmation.
  • Strict output template enforcement for predictable downstream consumption in Openclaw Skills workflows.
  • Faithful-to-source summarization rules that reduce hallucination and preserve original book meaning.
  • Action-oriented synthesis that turns reading into implementation steps.
