What is DashTask?

DashTask is a robust, collaborative platform designed for task management and CRM lead tracking. By integrating this skill, AI agents can interact with an organization's entire ecosystem—including projects, contacts, companies, and activities—via a single, streamlined REST endpoint. It is specifically optimized for Openclaw Skills to provide developers with a programmable interface for automating complex business workflows.

The skill stands out by offering a dynamic discovery pattern, allowing agents to adapt to an organization's unique dimensions, such as custom categories, departments, and lead stages. This ensures that the AI agent remains synchronized with the specific configuration of the team it supports, providing a highly tailored automation experience.

DashTask Use Cases

  • Automating the creation and assignment of tasks based on meeting notes or chat discussions.
  • Managing the full lifecycle of CRM leads from initial contact to closed-won deals.
  • Synchronizing project milestones and subtasks across distributed teams.
  • Logging client communications and activities directly into the CRM from external platforms.
  • Triggering automated email nudges to team members for overdue assignments.

How DashTask Works

  1. The AI agent initiates the session by calling get_org_context to retrieve all active projects, team members, and dynamic dimensions.
  2. The retrieved context is cached within the agent's memory to ensure efficient future interactions without redundant API calls.
  3. When a user issues a command, the agent maps the request to one of the 60+ available actions like create_task or update_lead.
  4. Requests are sent as POST JSON bodies to the DashTask endpoint, authenticated via a secure API key.
  5. The system validates inputs against the organization's dynamic schema and returns a structured JSON response to confirm the action's success.

DashTask Setup

To get started with DashTask within your environment, set the following environment variables:

export DASHTASK_API_KEY="your_api_key_here"
export DASHTASK_ENDPOINT="https://fgkytboizxksqustdfuc.supabase.co/functions/v1/agent-api"

You can generate your API key by navigating to DashTask -> Settings -> Team -> Invite AI Agent. Once configured, your agent can begin utilizing Openclaw Skills to manage your organization's data.

DashTask Data Schema & Taxonomy

DashTask uses a structured taxonomy to organize organizational data effectively:

Entity Primary Fields Description
Tasks title, status, urgency, project_id Core units of work with 1-10 urgency scales.
CRM Leads lead_name, lead_status, lead_stage Tracks sales opportunities and pipeline progression.
Companies company_name, industry, employee_count Organization-level CRM entities.
Contacts first_name, last_name, email Individual stakeholders linked to companies.
Dimensions entity, category, department, type Dynamic attributes used to filter and categorize tasks.

DashTask Advanced Features

  • Discovery-First Pattern: Agents automatically learn valid dimension values to prevent input errors.
  • Nested Subtask Support: Manage complex project hierarchies with parent-child task relationships.
  • Integrated Communication: Send professional nudges and CRM-related emails directly through the API.
  • Multi-Scope Permissions: Granular control over access to tasks, CRM data, or system settings.
  • Custom Dimension Management: Power users can create and delete organization-specific task and CRM attributes on the fly.
