What is Density?

The Density skill enables AI agents to interact with occupancy data and sensor records through the Membrane platform. By leveraging this Openclaw Skills integration, developers can programmatically monitor how many people are in a space, manage building memberships, and optimize facility utilization without manually handling complex authentication logic. It serves as a bridge between physical sensors and digital automation, allowing agents to make data-driven decisions based on real-time occupancy.

Density Use Cases

  • Monitoring real-time occupancy levels in office buildings or retail spaces.
  • Automating reports on space utilization for facility managers.
  • Triggering notifications based on capacity thresholds in specific rooms.
  • Synchronizing occupancy data with other workplace management and scheduling tools.

How Density Works

  1. Install the Membrane CLI and authenticate using a specific agent type to identify your environment.
  2. Create a connection to Density via the Membrane platform to handle OAuth or API credentials server-side.
  3. Poll the connection status until it reaches a READY state, or perform any required client actions.
  4. Discover available Density actions using natural language intent search to find the right endpoints.
  5. Execute predefined actions or send direct proxy requests to the Density API with managed authentication headers.

Density Setup

First, install the CLI to manage your Openclaw Skills:

npm install -g @membranehq/cli@latest

Authenticate with your specific agent type:

membrane login --tenant --clientName=openclaw

Initialize the connection to Density:

membrane connection ensure "https://www.density.io/" --json

Density Data Schema & Taxonomy

The Density skill organizes building management data into several core entities:

Entity Description
Space The physical area being monitored, such as rooms, floors, or buildings.
Membership Defines the relationships and access levels between users and spaces.
Device Information regarding the hardware sensors tracking occupancy.
Session Time-indexed records of occupancy events and analytics.
User Details about authorized individuals within the Density platform.

Density Advanced Features

  • Automated credential lifecycle management including transparent token refresh and server-side secret storage.
  • Natural language action discovery allowing agents to find relevant functions using simple intent queries.
  • Full proxy request support for reaching raw Density API endpoints while maintaining managed auth headers.
  • Multi-agent environment optimization via customized agentType identifiers.
  • Machine-readable JSON output flags for seamless integration into automated devops pipelines.
