What is Gleap?

Gleap is a comprehensive feedback and bug reporting tool designed for web and mobile applications, serving as a hub for product managers, QA engineers, and support teams. By utilizing Openclaw Skills, developers can interact with Gleap data directly through the Membrane CLI, enabling seamless management of users, reports, comments, and task boards without manual dashboard navigation.

This skill simplifies the complexity of integrating with Gleap by offloading authentication and credential management to Membrane. It allows agents to focus on the business logic of tracking bugs and improving app quality while maintaining secure, server-side credential handling.

Gleap Use Cases

  • Automating the creation of bug reports from user feedback collected in external channels.
  • Syncing Gleap task boards with internal project management tools.
  • Querying user feedback and comments to generate automated sentiment reports.
  • Managing QA workflows by updating report statuses and task assignments through CLI commands.
  • Bridging customer support interactions with technical issue tracking in Gleap.

How Gleap Works

  1. The user installs the Membrane CLI to facilitate communication between the agent and the Gleap API.
  2. Authentication is handled via a secure login process that generates a tenant-specific connection.
  3. A connection to the Gleap workspace is established using the workspace URL, which Membrane normalizes and validates.
  4. The agent searches for specific actions (like creating reports or fetching users) using natural language intent via the Membrane action list.
  5. Actions are executed with JSON parameters, or direct proxy requests are sent to the Gleap API for advanced use cases, with Membrane injecting the necessary auth headers automatically.

Gleap Setup

First, install the Membrane CLI globally:

npm install -g @membranehq/cli@latest

Log in to your account, specifying openclaw as the client name to optimize the integration for Openclaw Skills:

membrane login --tenant --clientName=openclaw

Ensure a connection to Gleap is active:

membrane connection ensure "https://www.gleap.io/" --json

Gleap Data Schema & Taxonomy

The Gleap skill organizes information around several core entities and metadata structures:

Entity Description
Projects The top-level container for all feedback and tasks.
Reports Specific bug reports or feedback entries, including metadata and status.
Comments Interaction logs and discussions attached to specific reports.
Boards Visual task management structures (Kanban/Lists).
Tasks Individual action items within a board.
Users Metadata regarding the reporters and team members involved.

Gleap Advanced Features

  • Natural Language Intent Discovery: Use the intent flag to find the most relevant Gleap actions without browsing documentation.
  • Transparent Proxy Requests: Send raw HTTP requests to Gleap endpoints while Membrane handles automatic token refresh and base URL injection.
  • Long-Polling Connection States: Built-in support for waiting on asynchronous connection builds using the --wait flag.
  • Headless Authentication: Support for completing OAuth flows in remote or server-side environments via authorization codes.
