What is dlazy-video-generate?

The dlazy-video-generate skill provides a direct, scriptable interface to high-quality cloud-based video generation models right from your development workspace. By integrating this skill with your agent workflows, you can automatically route prompts to specialized video models without having to manually parse configurations or manage distinct APIs.

As part of the library of Openclaw Skills, this tool acts as a thin client for the dLazy service, ensuring that local resources are preserved while demanding video, image, and lip-sync operations are handled in the cloud.

dlazy-video-generate Use Cases

  • Generating video clips from text prompts using optimal models like Kling V3, Veo 3.1, or ByteDance Seedance.
  • Animating static images or transition sequences with precise first-frame and first/last-frame constraints.
  • Synchronizing speaker lip movements to external audio tracks for dubbing, translation, or virtual presenter setups.
  • Executing sequential video-to-video modifications by piping outputs between multiple generation steps.

How dlazy-video-generate Works

  1. The agent parses user intent (such as text-to-video, image animation, or lip-syncing) and extracts relevant parameters.
  2. The skill dynamically selects the best-suited dLazy model (e.g., Jimeng, Kling, PixVerse, or Sync) based on the input prompt.
  3. Local media files are uploaded to dLazy's secure storage, and generation requests are sent to the API endpoint.
  4. Output URLs and JSON metadata envelopes are returned, facilitating immediate consumption or pipeline piping.

dlazy-video-generate Setup

Ensure you have Node.js and npm installed, then set up the dLazy CLI globally:

npm install -g @dlazy/[email protected]

Alternatively, run commands on demand without persisting a global binary:

npx @dlazy/[email protected] <command>

Authentication

Run the device-code flow to automatically generate and save your credentials:

dlazy auth

Or set your API key manually if you already have one:

dlazy auth set YOUR_API_KEY

The configuration is saved securely to ~/.dlazy/config.json on macOS/Linux or %USERPROFILE%\.dlazy\config.json on Windows.

dlazy-video-generate Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill relies on JSON envelopes returned via standard output, allowing structured data flow. The configuration is stored locally, while generation assets are hosted temporarily in the cloud.

CLI Configuration File (~/.dlazy/config.json)

Property Description
apiEndpoints Target hostnames (api.dlazy.com, files.dlazy.com)
apiKey Scoped API credentials associated with your dLazy organization
filePermissions Restricted exclusively to the host operating system user account

Pipeline Pipe Reference Spec

Reference Target Output
- Natural upstream field value
@N Primary value of the N-th output (e.g., @0 for first URL)
@N.<jsonpath> Deep nested path selection within the N-th output
@* Combined array of all output values
@stdin Entire upstream JSON envelope

dlazy-video-generate Advanced Features

  • Dynamic Model Routing: Automatically matches prompts to optimal sub-models covering text-to-video, image-to-video, or reference-to-video formats.
  • Multi-Step Piping: Directly feed stdout from one generation tool (like an image generator) into the video generator without manually extracting URLs.
  • Robust Exception Flow: Built-in handlers for unauthorized access, missing inputs, and local file read failures, keeping automated workflows running cleanly.
  • Integration Compatibility: Designed to work alongside other Openclaw Skills for complex, automated AI agent workflows.
