What is FireEye?

FireEye is a comprehensive security integration designed to protect organizations from sophisticated cyber attacks. By leveraging this skill within Openclaw Skills, security researchers and DevOps engineers can programmatically interact with FireEye products to detect, prevent, and respond to threats in real-time.

This skill simplifies the complexity of security operations by providing a unified interface for managing malware data, system tasks, and host details. It removes the friction of manual security monitoring by allowing AI agents to query security logs and trigger automated defensive actions without leaving the development environment.

FireEye Use Cases

  • Automated monitoring and triaging of security alerts and event logs.
  • Programmatic retrieval of malware details and host status for incident response.
  • Streamlining security tasks and workflow automation within a SOC environment.
  • Integrating real-time threat intelligence into custom security dashboards.

How FireEye Works

  1. The Openclaw Skills agent initializes the Membrane CLI to establish a secure link with the FireEye environment.
  2. User authentication is handled through a secure tenant-based login, ensuring credentials are managed server-side.
  3. A connection is established to the FireEye domain, which the agent polls until the state is marked as READY.
  4. The agent searches for specific actions (like fetching alerts or updating tasks) using natural language intent.
  5. Commands are executed via the Membrane proxy, which automatically handles API headers, base URLs, and token refreshes.

FireEye Setup

First, install the Membrane CLI to enable Openclaw Skills integration:

npm install -g @membranehq/cli@latest

Authenticate your agent (replace <agentType> with openclaw):

membrane login --tenant --clientName=openclaw

Create a connection to the FireEye service:

membrane connection ensure "https://www.fireeye.com/" --json

FireEye Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill organizes security data into several key entities manageable via the Openclaw Skills interface:

Entity Description
Alerts High-priority security notifications and detailed metadata.
Events Raw security logs and activity streams from the network.
Hosts Information regarding protected endpoints and their security status.
Malware Taxonomy and details of identified malicious software.
Tasks Queue of operational security actions and their current status.

FireEye Advanced Features

  • Natural language action discovery to find the best API endpoint for a specific security intent.
  • Direct API proxying for advanced queries not covered by standard pre-built actions.
  • Automated credential lifecycle management requiring no local storage of API keys.
  • Long-polling support for asynchronous connection building and complex task execution.
