What is Flomo Archive?

Flomo Archive is a specialized utility designed for the Openclaw Skills ecosystem to streamline the retrieval and organization of digital fragments. It addresses the technical limitations of the Flomo search API by implementing an intelligent fetching strategy that ensures 100% data coverage for any given month, regardless of note density.

Beyond simple data extraction, this skill integrates a heuristic evaluation engine. It automatically categorizes notes into high or low quality based on metadata like word count, tags, and multimedia content, allowing users to separate meaningful insights from daily logs or low-effort snippets within their Openclaw Skills managed workflow.

Flomo Archive Use Cases

  • Periodic archiving of Flomo notes for personal knowledge management backups.
  • Identifying and filtering low-quality or fragmented notes to clean up digital workspaces.
  • Consolidating monthly insights for review or transformation into long-form content.
  • Overcoming the 50-item limit of standard Flomo search queries for high-volume accounts.

How Flomo Archive Works

  1. The tool initiates a search query using a weekly granularity to remain within the 50-item API limit.
  2. If a specific week contains exactly 50 items (indicating potential data overflow), the system automatically downgrades to a daily fetch for that period.
  3. A deduplication engine runs to remove overlapping entries based on unique note IDs at the week/day boundaries.
  4. The quality assessment engine scans each note against predefined rules (tags, length, keywords).
  5. Results are compiled into a comprehensive JSON file containing full metadata including content, tags, and timestamps.

Flomo Archive Setup

To use this tool within your Openclaw Skills environment, ensure the mcporter Flomo MCP server is configured. Execute the scripts via the CLI:

# Fetch and evaluate notes for a specific month
python3 scripts/fetch_month.py 2025 7

# Evaluate an existing archive file
python3 scripts/evaluate_quality.py /tmp/flomo_2025_07.json

Flomo Archive Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill generates a structured JSON output stored by default in the /tmp/ directory. Each entry includes the following schema:

Field Type Description
content String The raw text of the note
tags Array List of associated hashtags
word_count Integer Total characters in the note
created_at Timestamp ISO 8601 creation date
quality_score String Evaluated status (High/Low)

Flomo Archive Advanced Features

  • Intelligent Tiered Fetching: Automatically switches from weekly to daily granularity to ensure zero data loss.
  • Heuristic Quality Marking: Flag notes as low quality if they contain "log-style" keywords (e.g., wake up, goodnight) or lack sufficient depth.
  • Flexible Output Modes: Supports summary statistics, detailed verbose logs (-v), or raw JSON output (--json) for downstream automation.
  • ID-based Deduplication: Built-in logic to handle edge-case overlaps during granular searches.
