What is Vibe Remote?

Vibe Remote is a specialized tool within the Openclaw Skills collection designed to bridge the gap between mobile convenience and powerful desktop AI development. It enables users to remotely trigger and manage AI coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode running on a host Mac or Linux machine. By leveraging a secure connection, developers can execute complex coding tasks, manage projects, and oversee AI-driven refactoring from their iPhone or iPad.

The skill provides a seamless handshake between the host CLI and the Vibe Remote iOS application. It is particularly valuable for developers who need to monitor long-running AI coding tasks or perform quick code generations away from their primary workstation while maintaining the full power of their desktop-class AI models.

Vibe Remote Use Cases

  • Running Claude Code on a Mac while controlling the session via an iPhone.
  • Monitoring and managing AI-driven code generation during travel or commutes.
  • Providing headless AI coding capabilities for CI/CD pipelines and remote servers.
  • Reporting bugs and requesting features for the Vibe Remote ecosystem directly through structured CLI workflows.

How Vibe Remote Works

  1. The user initializes the service on the host machine (Mac or Linux) using the vibe-remote CLI command.
  2. A unique QR code is generated in the terminal for secure authentication.
  3. The user scans the QR code using the Vibe Remote iOS application to establish a remote link.
  4. Commands sent from the iOS app are relayed to the active AI Agent (such as Claude Code) on the host.
  5. For automated environments, the skill can be launched in headless mode using account credentials.

Vibe Remote Setup

To install and start using this Openclaw Skills integration, ensure your binary path is configured and run the startup command:

# Add the binary to your path
export PATH="$HOME/bin:$PATH"

# Start the remote service
vibe-remote

# For Headless / CI environments
vibe-remote --headless --account <username> --password <password>

Vibe Remote Data Schema & Taxonomy

Vibe Remote interacts with GitHub for issue management and uses external storage for media assets. The following table describes the integration schema:

Data Category Management Method Details
Issue Tracking GitHub CLI (gh) Managed via ymzuiku/vibe-remote repository
Versioning SemVer Tracked via vibe-remote --version
Image Assets nodeimage-upload / catbox Used for embedding JPG/PNG/WebP in issues
Video Assets catbox.moe Used for MP4/MOV evidence in bug reports

All session data is handled through the connection established between the host CLI and the iOS client.

Vibe Remote Advanced Features

  • Multi-Agent Support: Compatible with Claude Code (recommended), Codex, and OpenCode.
  • GitHub Integration: Automated bug report and feature request generation using structured templates and the gh CLI.
  • Headless Mode: Support for running on remote servers or CI scripts without a GUI.
  • Media Embedding: Streamlined workflow for uploading screenshots and screen recordings to GitHub issues via catbox API.
