What is Auto Google Review Reply Merchant Onboarding?

This Openclaw Skills integration guides an AI agent through the complete Auto Google Review Reply onboarding lifecycle: account registration or login, Google Business Profile authorization, location selection, membership validation, and AI auto-reply configuration. It communicates with the production REST backend and confirms each stage before continuing.

The skill supports a five-day free trial for newly created shops, avoids unnecessary payment requests, securely manages session authorization through the AUTH_TOKEN environment variable, and lets merchants configure star thresholds, languages, signatures, shop introductions, keywords, and AI instructions. The product login account and Google Business account can be different.

Auto Google Review Reply Merchant Onboarding Use Cases

  • Onboard a new merchant into the Auto Google Review Reply product.
  • Register or sign in an existing product user through Google OAuth or username and password.
  • Connect a Google Business Profile managed by a separate Google account.
  • Select and bind the correct Google Business location when an account has multiple stores.
  • Check whether a shop is covered by the automatic five-day free trial or an active paid membership.
  • Route expired merchants to Stripe checkout only after the trial or membership has ended.
  • Create or update AI review auto-reply rules for a store.
  • Configure minimum star ratings, reply language, signatures, shop introductions, keywords, and response length.
  • Generate an AI customer configuration from a Business Profile.
  • Preview an AI response for a sample Google review.
  • Recover from an incorrectly connected Google Business Profile by disconnecting and reconnecting it.

How Auto Google Review Reply Merchant Onboarding Works

  1. Gather the merchant's account status, Google Business manager account, target store, reply language, star threshold, shop introduction, signature, and keywords.
  2. Authenticate the merchant with Google OAuth, username and password, or the secure SSO handoff flow. When browser automation is unavailable, create a short-lived handoff slot and poll it until the authorization is ready.
  3. Store the returned authorization value as AUTH_TOKEN and validate it with GET /admin/info. Reuse the same token for all API calls and reauthorize only after a 401 response.
  4. Check Google Business connection status with GET /google-business/status. If necessary, open the Google Business OAuth flow using the account that manages the target profile.
  5. Retrieve the currently bound merchant and selectable locations with GET /google-my-business/locations/current. Confirm the intended location and bind it with POST /google-my-business/locations/bind.
  6. Check shop membership through GET /shop/getCurShop. A future vip_expire_time means ACTIVE, including the automatic five-day trial; a missing or past expiration means EXPIRED.
  7. If membership is expired, confirm a monthly or yearly plan, create a Stripe checkout session, and verify membership after payment. Never request payment while the trial is active.
  8. Load existing auto-reply settings with GET /news/getAutoReviewsList. Generate a configuration from the Business Profile when useful, or collect the merchant's preferred rules directly.
  9. Create or update the per-store auto-reply configuration, then add or remove merchant keywords through the store keyword endpoints.
  10. Confirm that the saved configuration is enabled and optionally generate a preview response for a sample review.

Auto Google Review Reply Merchant Onboarding Setup

Set the backend URL and provide the session authorization through the designated environment variable. Never hard-code tokens, place them in URLs, send them as query parameters, or print them in full.

export API_BASE_URL="https://apprest.mytruststores.com/adminServer"
export AUTH_TOKEN="Bearer <session-token>"

Validate the session before onboarding:

curl --fail "$API_BASE_URL/admin/info" \
  -H "Authorization: $AUTH_TOKEN"

For an agent without browser automation, create an SSO handoff slot, send the merchant the returned login URL, and poll the slot every two to three seconds:

curl -X POST "$API_BASE_URL/oauth2/handoff/create" \
  --data-urlencode "returnUrl=<calling-app-return-url>"

curl "$API_BASE_URL/oauth2/handoff/<handoffId>/token"

The backend reads Google Business OAuth client credentials from its Spring Security configuration. The agent does not need a Google client ID or client secret environment variable. Google Business access and refresh tokens are persisted and refreshed by the backend. Treat every response with code other than 200 as an error and surface its message to the merchant.

Auto Google Review Reply Merchant Onboarding Data Schema & Taxonomy

Core authentication and account data

Data Location or endpoint Handling
Product session token AUTH_TOKEN environment variable Stores the complete Authorization header value and is reused for every API request.
SSO handoff /oauth2/handoff/create and /oauth2/handoff/{handoffId}/token One-time slot, valid for approximately three minutes; authorization is deleted after retrieval.
Google Business OAuth tokens Backend googleBusinessToken database field Owned, persisted, and automatically refreshed by the backend; never stored by the agent.
User and shop identity /admin/info and /shop/getCurShop Used to confirm authentication, selected shop, and membership state.

Shop and membership taxonomy

  • vip_expire_time in the future: ACTIVE, including the automatic five-day trial.
  • vip_expire_time null or in the past: EXPIRED.
  • vipLevel = basic is assigned when the first shop is created with the trial.
  • Backend membership failures may return 403001 or 403002.
  • Stripe products are Review_Basic_Monthly for the monthly plan and Review_Basic for the yearly plan.

Google Business location data

  • /google-business/status contains connection metadata such as connected, tokenValid, createdAt, and expiresIn; it does not identify the shop.
  • /google-my-business/locations/current returns list, current, and selectable.
  • current identifies the currently bound merchant; list contains selectable locations.
  • Location identifiers are normalized by removing a leading locations/ prefix before binding.
  • An empty list with a null current means the authorized Google account has no available Business Profile locations.

Auto-reply configuration

Field Purpose
startCount Minimum review star rating from 1 to 5 that triggers auto-reply.
status 1 enables auto-reply; 0 disables it.
replyLanguage auto, zh, en, fr, es, or it.
sign Optional merchant signature.
translaSign Controls signature translation behavior.
shopIntroduction Optional business context for generated replies.
advancedTips Additional AI instructions.
maxLength Maximum response length.
keywords Store-specific terms used in reply generation.
aiReplyType AI reply mode; the standard configuration uses 1.

Existing configurations are updated with their id; otherwise a new record is created. Store keywords are managed independently under /news/{shopId}/keywords.

Auto Google Review Reply Merchant Onboarding Advanced Features

  • Browser-aware authentication with a secure SSO handoff mode that avoids asking merchants to copy and paste sensitive tokens.
  • Google OAuth account independence: the product login identity and Google Business Profile manager identity do not need to match.
  • Automatic backend refresh of short-lived Google Business access tokens using persisted refresh tokens.
  • Sequential workflow gates with explicit success checks after authentication, location binding, membership validation, and configuration.
  • Automatic five-day trial awareness that prevents forced payment for eligible new shops.
  • Stripe subscription escalation for expired memberships with monthly and yearly plan support.
  • AI-generated customer configuration based on Business Profile data, with quota verification before generation.
  • Create-or-update behavior for existing per-store auto-reply configurations.
  • Per-store keyword lifecycle management, including listing, adding, and deleting keywords.
  • AI review preview generation using review text, star rating, keywords, signature, shop context, and response constraints.
  • Safe error handling for non-200 response envelopes, expired sessions, invalid memberships, missing locations, and incorrectly bound profiles.
  • Token hygiene controls that keep secrets out of prompts, logs, source code, and URLs, making the workflow suitable for secure Openclaw Skills automation.
