What is gotchi-equip?

gotchi-equip is a technical extension designed for AI agents to manage Aavegotchi assets on the Base blockchain. It facilitates the equipping, unequipping, and inspection of wearables through automated scripts, bridging the gap between agent logic and on-chain execution. As a part of the Openclaw Skills ecosystem, it provides a structured way to handle NFT metadata updates without manual intervention for every slot change.

By utilizing the Bankr protocol, this skill ensures that transactions are submitted securely using an API key. It is built with a focus on reliability, automatically fetching existing loadouts before making changes to ensure that unspecified slots remain untouched during the update process.

gotchi-equip Use Cases

  • Automating the styling of Aavegotchi avatars for seasonal events.
  • Quickly stripping all wearables from a gotchi before listing it on a marketplace.
  • Building automated inventory management tools within the Openclaw Skills framework.
  • Batch inspecting the current equipment status of multiple gotchis via the command line.

How gotchi-equip Works

  1. The user or agent specifies a Gotchi ID and the desired wearable IDs for specific slots.
  2. The skill validates the Gotchi ID and retrieves the current equipment state from the Base subgraph.
  3. A payload is constructed that combines the new wearable selections with the existing ones to prevent accidental unequipping.
  4. The update is submitted to the blockchain via the Bankr API using the configured environment credentials.
  5. The skill confirms the submission, resulting in an on-chain update of the Aavegotchi's appearance.

gotchi-equip Setup

Ensure you have the necessary system dependencies and the bankr skill installed before configuring gotchi-equip. You will also need a valid Bankr API key.

# Install required system tools
sudo apt-get install nodejs jq curl

# Configure your environment variable
export BANKR_API_KEY="your_api_key_here"

# Integrate the skill into your Openclaw Skills directory
git clone https://github.com/aaigotchi/gotchi-equip-skill

gotchi-equip Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill manages 16 wearable slots, though it specifically targets the primary visual categories. Data is processed using numeric IDs for both gotchis and wearables.

Slot Name Target Category
body Main body wearable
face Face/eye accessories
eyes Eye modifications
head Headwear/Hats
left-hand Left hand held items
right-hand Right hand held items
pet Pet companions
background Background environments

All requests are validated for numeric integrity to ensure compatibility with the Base subgraph and Bankr API.

gotchi-equip Advanced Features

  • Smart Preservation: Automatically fetches current equipment to ensure partial updates do not wipe other slots.
  • Batch Reset: Includes a dedicated script to set all 16 wearable slots to zero in a single transaction.
  • Subgraph Inspection: Directly queries the Base subgraph to provide real-time equipment status reports.
  • Openclaw Skills Integration: Designed to work seamlessly with other modular skills like bankr for enhanced automation.
