- The AI agent receives a prompt to find leads or mentions related to a specific product or keyword.
- The skill evaluates the environment for a HOTMENTION_API_KEY to choose between free web search or the professional API.
- In free mode, the agent conducts a targeted search on X/Twitter and manually assesses relevance and intent.
- In paid mode, the agent queries the HotMention REST API to retrieve pre-scored leads from multiple social networks.
- The agent filters and categorizes results into Hot (70+) or Warm (40-69) leads based on intent scoring.
- A structured report is generated for the user, including a reply verdict, competitor analysis, and a ready-to-use response draft.
HotMention Setup
For basic functionality using the free mode, no initial configuration is required. To enable full cross-platform support within Openclaw Skills, follow these steps:
- Create an account at hotmention.com.
- Navigate to Settings and generate a new API Key.
- Add the key to your environment variables:
export HOTMENTION_API_KEY='your_api_key_here'
- Restart your agent to activate advanced lead scoring and multi-platform scanning.
