What is Google Meet?

The Google Meet skill for Openclaw Skills enables seamless interaction with Google's video conferencing platform. It allows AI agents to create meeting spaces, retrieve participant details, and access structured meeting data such as transcripts and recordings. By utilizing the Membrane infrastructure, this skill abstracts the complexity of OAuth flows and credential management.

This integration is essential for developers building automated meeting assistants, research tools, or team coordination bots. Using Openclaw Skills with Google Meet ensures that your AI agent can programmatically end active conferences, update space settings, and analyze past meeting records without manual intervention.

Google Meet Use Cases

  • Automating the creation of meeting spaces for scheduled team syncs.
  • Extracting structured meeting transcripts to generate AI-driven summaries.
  • Monitoring and listing meeting recordings for archival and documentation purposes.
  • Programmatically managing meeting participants and ending active sessions when required.
  • Integrating meeting data into broader research and data analytics workflows.

How Google Meet Works

  1. The AI agent initiates a connection to Google Meet using the Membrane CLI, which handles the secure authentication process.
  2. Once authenticated, the agent uses the connection ID to search for specific intents, such as listing conference records or retrieving a transcript.
  3. The skill translates natural language intents into pre-configured actions with defined input and output schemas.
  4. For specialized needs not covered by standard actions, the agent can perform direct proxy requests to the Google Meet API, with Membrane automatically injecting the required headers.
  5. The resulting meeting data is returned as machine-readable JSON for the AI agent to process or store.

Google Meet Setup

First, install the Membrane CLI to enable Openclaw Skills to interact with the environment:

npm install -g @membranehq/cli@latest

Authenticate your agent (replace <agentType> with openclaw):

membrane login --tenant --clientName=openclaw

Establish the connection to Google Meet:

membrane connection ensure "https://meet.google.com/" --json

Verify the connection state and wait for it to become READY:

membrane connection get <id> --wait --json

Google Meet Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill organizes Google Meet data into several primary resources managed via JSON responses:

Resource Description
Conference Record Contains metadata about past meetings including ID and timing.
Transcript Includes the full text and metadata of meeting speech segments.
Recording Provides access to video and audio files from the session.
Space Defines the meeting environment, including the meeting code and settings.
Participant Details regarding the individuals who joined a specific conference record.

Google Meet Advanced Features

  • Direct API Proxying: Send raw requests to any Google Meet endpoint with automatic credential injection.
  • Intent-Based Action Discovery: Dynamically search for the most relevant tool using natural language queries.
  • Automatic Credential Refresh: Membrane manages OAuth tokens server-side, eliminating the need for local secret storage.
  • Long-polling Connection Support: Use the --wait flag for robust handling of asynchronous authentication flows.
