The kashdao-cli is an official command-line tool designed for the Kash prediction market protocol. It stands out in the directory of Openclaw Skills as a highly robust, developer-first tool for managing non-custodial positions, analyzing market depth, and automating transactions with maximum security. Under the hood, Kash never holds user keys or balances; instead, all interactions operate via delegated MPC smart accounts managed securely by Privy.
This utility provides dual-mode flexibility. Developers can use the default Kash-orchestrated REST API for high-performance off-chain matching and webhook monitoring, or opt for a completely self-orchestrated, direct-to-chain approach with their own RPC nodes and signers. By deploying this capability alongside other Openclaw Skills, developers can build reliable, automated trading bots that leverage stable JSON outputs, rigorous idempotency validations, and multi-profile workflows.
Ensure you have Node.js 22+ installed on your system. Obtain a staging API key by contacting engineering@kash.bot.
Install the CLI globally:
npm install -g @kashdao/cli@latest
Verify that the binary is available:
kash --version
Authenticate using your API key. This will write the key with secure permissions (0600) to ~/.kash/config.json:
kash auth set-key kash_test_your_api_key_here
You can also override the active API key per-session by setting the KASH_API_KEY environment variable.
The configuration file is located at ~/.kash/config.json and manages profile-specific parameters:
| Parameter | Description | Required |
|---|---|---|
apiKey |
Your active Kash developer key | Yes |
rpcUrl |
Custom Ethereum RPC URL (Protocol mode) | No |
smartAccount |
Your Privy-managed MPC Smart Account address | No |
signerKeyRef |
Reference to key (file:<path> or env:<NAME>) |
No |
All errors return a structured JSON response schema to help automated agents debug issues:
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
ok |
Boolean | Always false on error |
error.code |
String | A stable, machine-readable error string |
error.message |
String | Human-readable explanation |
error.recoverable |
Boolean | Indicates if the error can be automatically recovered |
error.suggestion |
String | Actionable remediation tip |
error.actions |
Array | Suggested recovery strategies (e.g., wait_and_retry) |
