What is Neonomics?

The Neonomics skill provides a streamlined interface for AI agents to leverage the Neonomics open banking platform. By utilizing the Membrane framework, this skill abstracts the complexities of financial API authentication and credential management, allowing agents to focus on high-value logic like analyzing transactions, managing invoices, and initiating payments. It is an essential component for any Openclaw Skills implementation requiring programmatic access to diverse banking ecosystems across Europe.

This integration allows developers to connect to various bank accounts and process payments programmatically without managing the underlying auth plumbing. It effectively bridges the gap between sophisticated AI workflows and the regulated world of open banking.

Neonomics Use Cases

  • Automating invoice reconciliation and line-item management within financial workflows.
  • Retrieving real-time transaction history and account balances for data analytics.
  • Programmatically initiating payments and managing customer banking connections.
  • Synchronizing financial records between bank accounts and internal ERP or CRM systems.
  • Building personalized financial management tools powered by Openclaw Skills.

How Neonomics Works

  1. The agent initializes the environment by installing and logging into the Membrane CLI to establish identity.
  2. A secure connection is established to the Neonomics platform using the connection ensure command, which handles the full OAuth or API handshake.
  3. The agent polls the connection status until it reaches a READY state, prompting for user action if additional authentication or bank-side approval is required.
  4. Available banking actions, such as fetching accounts or creating payments, are discovered using natural language intent searching through the Openclaw Skills framework.
  5. The agent executes specific actions or makes direct proxy requests to the Neonomics API with automatic header injection and credential refreshing.

Neonomics Setup

Install the Membrane CLI to manage your Openclaw Skills:

npm install -g @membranehq/cli@latest

Authenticate your agent:

membrane login --tenant --clientName=openclaw

Establish the Neonomics connection:

membrane connection ensure "https://www.neonomics.io/" --json

If the connection is building, wait for readiness:

npx @membranehq/cli connection get <id> --wait --json

Neonomics Data Schema & Taxonomy

The Neonomics skill organizes data around standard financial entities. The following table describes the primary data objects available:

Entity Description
Account Detailed bank account information including balances and IBANs.
Transaction Historical ledger entries for a specific account.
Payment Status and details of initiated credit transfers.
Invoice Billing records including line items and tax rates.
Customer/Company Identity data for individuals or organizations linked to accounts.
User Authentication and session metadata for the banking integration.

Neonomics Advanced Features

  • Transparent credential refresh ensures long-running Openclaw Skills workflows remain uninterrupted even during token expiration.
  • Direct API proxy requests allow for custom endpoint interaction beyond pre-defined actions while maintaining secure auth headers.
  • Multi-agent support via distinct client names during the authentication phase for specialized AI tasks.
  • Machine-readable JSON output for all commands, facilitating seamless integration into automated devops pipelines.
  • Automatic URL normalization and app discovery to simplify the creation of banking connections.
