What is Open Claude?

Open Claude is an Openclaw Skills browser-launching skill that provides a fast way to access Claude AI, Anthropic's conversational assistant, through the Brave browser. Users can say a natural-language trigger such as "open claude" and the skill opens the correct website without requiring manual navigation.

It is useful for long-document processing, detailed analysis, research, writing, editing, and comparing AI responses. The skill supports Windows, macOS, and Linux, while relying on an installed Brave browser, an internet connection, and a valid Claude account.

Open Claude Use Cases

  • Open Claude quickly when you need to start an Anthropic AI session.
  • Process or analyze long documents using Claude's large context window.
  • Request thoughtful, detailed responses for research and complex reasoning.
  • Draft, revise, or edit large documents in Claude.
  • Compare Claude's answers with responses from other AI assistants.
  • Access an AI assistant through a simple Openclaw Skills voice or text trigger.
  • Launch Claude when you want a guided path to ethical and safety-oriented AI interactions.

How Open Claude Works

  1. The user says a supported trigger phrase, such as "open claude", "launch claude", "/claude", or "open anthropic".
  2. The skill recognizes the request to access Claude AI.
  3. It detects the operating system in use.
  4. On Windows, it uses the start brave command; on macOS, it uses open -a "Brave Browser"; on Linux, it uses the brave-browser command.
  5. Brave opens and navigates directly to https://claude.ai.
  6. The user signs in or creates an Anthropic account if necessary.
  7. The Claude tab is ready for immediate prompting.

Open Claude Setup

Requirements

  • Brave browser installed from brave.com.
  • An active internet connection.
  • A free or paid Claude account.
  • Email verification when creating an Anthropic account.

Installation and configuration

  1. Install Brave for your operating system.
  2. Launch Brave once to confirm that it is available from the system command line.
  3. Sign in to Claude at https://claude.ai, or complete account registration.
  4. Install or enable the Open Claude skill in your Openclaw Skills environment.
  5. Invoke the skill with a supported phrase:
# Windows
start brave https://claude.ai

# macOS
open -a "Brave Browser" https://claude.ai

# Linux
brave-browser https://claude.ai

If Claude does not open, verify the Brave installation and ensure the executable is available to the skill. If the browser command differs on your system, update the launcher configuration accordingly.

Open Claude Data Schema & Taxonomy

Data and metadata

This skill is a stateless browser launcher rather than a content-processing or storage workflow. It does not define a persistent database, generated document format, local cache, or structured output schema.

Element Behavior
Trigger phrases Natural-language commands including open claude, go to claude, launch claude, start claude, claude please, /claude, take me to claude, and open anthropic
Destination https://claude.ai
Browser Brave Browser
Platform routing Windows: start brave; macOS: open -a "Brave Browser"; Linux: brave-browser
Persistent skill data None specified
Generated files None specified
Authentication data Managed by Claude and Brave; the skill does not define credential storage

Conversation history, prompts, account information, and Claude responses remain managed by Claude and the user's browser session, not by this Openclaw Skills launcher.

Open Claude Advanced Features

  • Cross-platform command routing for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Multiple natural-language trigger phrases plus the /claude shortcut.

  • Browser-based authentication support for both free and paid Claude accounts.
  • Simple troubleshooting path for missing browsers, login requirements, loading problems, and context limits.
  • Lightweight, stateless behavior with no specified local files or persistent data store.
  • Easy adaptation for power users who need to modify the Brave launch command for a custom installation.
