What is Praesidia?

Praesidia provides a robust framework for managing the trust and safety of agentic workflows. By leveraging these Openclaw Skills, developers can verify the identity of AI agents through standardized A2A protocol cards and assign trust scores ranging from 0 to 100. This ensures that only vetted and compliant agents are integrated into sensitive business processes.

Beyond simple verification, Praesidia allows for the implementation of sophisticated guardrails that monitor both input and output. These guardrails utilize regex rules, machine learning models, and LLM-based validation to detect PII, block prompt injections, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards like GDPR and SOC2. It is an essential tool for anyone building or consuming services in the burgeoning AI agent marketplace.

Praesidia Use Cases

  • Verifying the safety and reputation of a third-party AI agent before granting it access to your data.
  • Searching a public marketplace for verified agents with specific capabilities like data analysis or financial processing.
  • Securing a chatbot against prompt injection attacks and jailbreak attempts using real-time guardrails.
  • Automatically redacting personally identifiable information (PII) from agent responses to maintain privacy compliance.
  • Auditing an entire fleet of agents to identify inactive or low-trust entities that may pose a security risk.

How Praesidia Works

  1. The skill authenticates with the Praesidia API using a secure key defined in your configuration.
  2. When an agent check is triggered, it fetches a detailed agent card containing verification status, trust levels, and compliance metadata.
  3. For security enforcement, the skill can apply templates or custom guardrails that intercept agent communications.
  4. It evaluates content against selected policies (Content, Security, Compliance, Brand, or Accuracy) using the most appropriate engine (RULE, ML, or LLM).
  5. Based on the evaluation, it executes configured actions such as blocking the request, redacting sensitive strings, or flagging content for human review.

Praesidia Setup

To enable these Openclaw Skills, you must first obtain an API key from the Praesidia dashboard. Then, configure your environment by adding the following to your ~/.openclaw/openclaw.json file:

{
  "skills": {
    "entries": {
      "praesidia": {
        "apiKey": "YOUR_PRAESIDIA_API_KEY",
        "env": {
          "PRAESIDIA_API_URL": "https://api.praesidia.ai"
        }
      }
    }
  }
}

Ensure the PRAESIDIA_API_KEY environment variable is accessible to your agent session.

Praesidia Data Schema & Taxonomy

Praesidia organizes security and identity data using a structured taxonomy to ensure interoperability:

Component Key Fields Description
Agent Card ID, Trust Score, Compliance, Capabilities The standard A2A identity document for an agent.
Trust Score 0-100 (Numerical), Level (String) A metric representing the reliability and verification level of an agent.
Guardrail Template, Type, Scope, Action A security policy applied to an agent's input or output streams.
Discovery Visibility, Role, Status Metadata used to filter and find agents in the marketplace.

Praesidia Advanced Features

  • Multi-layer guardrail stacking combining security, content moderation, and brand safety checks.
  • Real-time content validation with automated remediation actions like REDACT and REPLACE.
  • Deep integration with the A2A protocol for cross-platform agent identity and capability discovery.
  • Support for diverse guardrail engines, from high-speed regex rules to high-accuracy LLM-powered validation.
  • Comprehensive monitoring of guardrail trigger counts to identify emerging threats or compliance gaps.
