What is proxy-veil?

proxy-veil is a powerful residential proxy skill for AI agents that enables seamless access to the web by routing requests through a massive network of over 2 million real home devices. It is specifically designed to help agents bypass sophisticated anti-bot systems like Cloudflare, LinkedIn, and Amazon by masking automated traffic as legitimate residential user activity. As a standout entry in the ecosystem of Openclaw Skills, it provides a bridge between AI models and restricted web content.

This skill supports major providers including Novada, BrightData, Smartproxy, and Oxylabs, while offering flexible configuration for any generic HTTP proxy. Beyond simple fetching, it handles complex requirements like sticky sessions for multi-step login flows and full JavaScript rendering via Chromium, ensuring your AI agents never hit a wall when gathering data or performing research.

proxy-veil Use Cases

  • Accessing websites protected by 403 errors, CAPTCHAs, or Cloudflare challenges.
  • Extracting localized content by geo-targeting specific countries or cities.
  • Maintaining session persistence with sticky IPs for multi-page scraping or login-required workflows.
  • Scraping modern, single-page applications (SPAs) built with React or Vue that require JavaScript execution.
  • Performing structured search engine research without the need for manual HTML parsing.

How proxy-veil Works

  1. The AI agent initiates a request via proxy-veil tools like agentproxy_fetch or agentproxy_render.
  2. The skill selects the configured provider (prioritizing Novada or other residential services) and applies geo-targeting or session parameters.
  3. The request is routed through a residential IP address, appearing to the target website as a standard home user.
  4. If JS rendering is requested, the skill uses a real Chromium instance via a WebSocket connection to process the page.
  5. The skill parses the result—optionally converting it to clean Markdown—and returns the data to the AI agent for processing.

proxy-veil Setup

To integrate this into your agent as part of your Openclaw Skills library, install it via the Claude MCP CLI using your preferred provider credentials:

proxy-veil Data Schema & Taxonomy

proxy-veil organizes data retrieval and output through structured tool parameters and response formats:

Tool Primary Data Output Key Parameters

agentproxy_search Structured JSON query, num, country
agentproxy_render Rendered Markdown url, wait_for, format

All Openclaw Skills leveraging proxy-veil benefit from standardized metadata including versioning (1.5.3) and OS compatibility (macOS, Linux, Windows).
