What is Share One-Time Link?

The Share One-Time Link skill enables users to expose local files to the public internet securely and temporarily. By leveraging Openclaw Skills, this tool automates the process of moving files to a designated sharing directory, generating a cryptographically random token, and serving the file via a local Express server. To ensure global accessibility without complex network configuration, it integrates with Cloudflare Tunnels, providing a public URL that bypasses the need for a VPN or static IP while maintaining a strict security posture.

Share One-Time Link Use Cases

  • Sending large reports or assets to external clients without using third-party cloud storage providers.
  • Sharing temporary debugging logs or build artifacts with teammates quickly.
  • Providing a one-time download link for sensitive documents that should self-destruct immediately after access.
  • Distributing files from a local development environment to mobile devices for testing without internal network hurdles.

How Share One-Time Link Works

  1. The user requests a file share via the agent or CLI, specifying an optional time-to-live (TTL).
  2. The skill copies the target file to an isolated shared directory to prevent unauthorized access to the rest of the workspace.
  3. A unique, 64-character hex token is generated and associated with the file metadata.
  4. The local Express server tracks the link and serves the file through the Cloudflare Tunnel.
  5. Upon the first successful download or the expiration of the TTL, the server automatically deletes the file and invalidates the token.

Share One-Time Link Setup

1. Install Dependencies

cd skills/share-onetime-link/scripts
npm install

2. Configure Cloudflare Tunnel

Create a tunnel in your Cloudflare dashboard pointing to http://localhost:5050 and run it:

cloudflared tunnel run --token YOUR_TUNNEL_TOKEN

3. Start the Server

Configure your environment variables and launch the service:

SHARE_PUBLIC_URL="https://share.yourdomain.com" \
SHARE_SECRET="your-strong-random-secret" \
node skills/share-onetime-link/scripts/server.js

Share One-Time Link Data Schema & Taxonomy

Component Description
Shared Directory workspace/shared/ - A dedicated, isolated folder for temporary files.
Access Tokens 32-byte (64 hex chars) cryptographically random strings used for unique URLs.
Metadata Internal server tracking of file paths, token associations, and expiry timestamps.

Share One-Time Link Advanced Features

  • Automated cleanup logic that triggers on both event-based (download) and time-based (TTL) conditions to ensure no data lingers.
  • Secret-protected administrative endpoints (/generate and /status) that require a SHARE_SECRET for authorized management.
  • Deep integration with Openclaw Skills allowing for natural language commands like "Share this for 10 minutes".
  • Security-first design that refuses to start the server if a secret is not provided, ensuring all sharing is authenticated.
