What is Crabwalk?

Crabwalk serves as a dedicated dashboard for developers and users working with Openclaw Skills. It provides a visual layer to agent operations, allowing you to track activity through an interactive graph and browse workspace files directly in your browser. By bridging the gap between CLI-based execution and user-friendly observability, it makes overseeing complex multi-agent workflows significantly more intuitive.

The tool is designed to run alongside your agents, connecting to the gateway to stream live updates. Whether you are debugging agent logic or simply want to keep an eye on file generation, Crabwalk offers a streamlined interface to manage your Openclaw Skills environment effectively.

Crabwalk Use Cases

  • Visualizing real-time agent activity and state transitions through a ReactFlow graph.
  • Remotely browsing and inspecting markdown files or documents produced by agents in the workspace.
  • Sharing agent progress with human stakeholders via a network-accessible web URL.
  • Monitoring background agent processes to ensure stability and efficiency.

How Crabwalk Works

  1. The user installs the Crabwalk CLI tool which serves as a lightweight web server and gateway client.
  2. Upon startup, Crabwalk automatically detects the authentication token from the Openclaw Skills configuration file.
  3. The tool establishes a WebSocket connection to the local OpenClaw gateway to receive real-time event data.
  4. A local web server is hosted (typically on port 3000), providing endpoints for monitoring and workspace management.
  5. The user accesses the dashboard through a browser to interact with the live activity graph and file system.

Crabwalk Setup

To install Crabwalk and integrate it with your Openclaw Skills, run the following command:

VERSION=$(curl -s https://api.github.com/repos/luccast/crabwalk/releases/latest | grep '"tag_name"' | cut -d'"' -f4) && mkdir -p ~/.crabwalk ~/.local/bin && curl -sL "https://github.com/luccast/crabwalk/releases/download/${VERSION}/crabwalk-${VERSION}.tar.gz" | tar -xz -C ~/.crabwalk && cp ~/.crabwalk/bin/crabwalk ~/.local/bin/ && chmod +x ~/.local/bin/crabwalk

Verify the installation with:

crabwalk --version

Start the monitor server:
