What is Shitty Email?

Shitty Email is a specialized utility for Openclaw Skills designed to handle the complexities of temporary email management. It allows users and automated agents to create disposable inboxes instantly, making it an ideal solution for bypassing spam, protecting personal privacy during signups, and performing automated testing of email-based registration flows. The skill provides a robust API-driven approach to interact with temporary addresses without requiring a permanent account.

By leveraging this skill within Openclaw Skills, developers can programmatically monitor for incoming messages, extract verification codes, and manage the lifecycle of a temporary session. Whether you are automating a web sign-up process or need a sandboxed environment for testing email notifications, this tool ensures that your real inbox remains clutter-free and secure.

Shitty Email Use Cases

  • Creating temporary email addresses for one-time service registrations.
  • Automating the signup process for newsletters or platforms to avoid spam.
  • Testing email delivery and content during software development cycles.
  • Programmatically waiting for and capturing verification codes or confirmation links.
  • Maintaining privacy by using disposable identities for web interactions.

How Shitty Email Works

  1. The skill initiates a request to the Shitty Email API to generate a new, unique email address and an associated session token.
  2. The session token is stored and used as a mandatory identifier for all subsequent actions related to that specific inbox.
  3. The agent or user polls the inbox at regular intervals to check for the arrival of new messages.
  4. Once a message is detected, the skill fetches the full email content, including sender details, subject, and the message body in HTML or text format.
  5. If a session needs to last longer than the default 60 minutes, the skill can send an extension request to keep the inbox active for up to 24 hours.
  6. Upon completion of the task, the skill sends a deletion command to purge the inbox and all its data immediately.

Shitty Email Setup

To integrate this functionality into your environment, ensure that you have curl and jq installed on your operating system. These tools are required to interact with the API and parse the JSON responses within Openclaw Skills.

# Verify dependencies are installed
curl --version
jq --version

# Create your first temporary inbox
curl -s -X POST https://shitty.email/api/inbox | jq

Shitty Email Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill manages inbox data and message metadata through a structured JSON format. Below is the primary schema for the API interactions:

Property Description Context
email The generated disposable address Inbox Creation
token The X-Session-Token for authentication All Requests
id Unique identifier for a specific message Email Retrieval
from The sender's email address Message Metadata
html/text The raw content of the email body Email Content
date Timestamp of when the email was received Message Metadata

Note: All data is transient and will be permanently deleted when the inbox expires or is manually deleted.

Shitty Email Advanced Features

  • Programmatic Session Extension: Manually increase the lifespan of an inbox up to a maximum of 24 hours.
  • Automated Verification Extraction: Use regular expressions within Openclaw Skills to automatically pull 6-digit codes or URLs from email text.
  • Responsible Polling Logic: Built-in patterns for efficient inbox checking to avoid rate limiting while ensuring fast response capture.
  • Multi-Inbox Management: Capability to track and manage multiple distinct temporary sessions simultaneously.
  • Secure Resource Disposal: Explicit DELETE functionality to ensure no residual data remains after a workflow is finished.
