What is TicketMaster?

TicketMaster is a technical Openclaw Skills extension designed for developers and AI agents to programmatically interact with the Ticketmaster Discovery API. It provides a robust framework for searching live listings, discovering venues, and looking up attractions while adhering to API best practices. By bridging the gap between raw API calls and local workflow efficiency, it enables fast, filter-heavy queries for global events.

This skill prioritizes terminal speed and precision, offering a bundled shell helper for rapid lookups and raw curl patterns for deep response inspection. It is engineered to handle complex search parameters like ISO-8601 timestamps, DMA IDs, and market-specific filters, ensuring that AI agents provide accurate, real-time event data without venturing into unsupported purchase flows.

TicketMaster Use Cases

  • Searching for live event listings by keyword, city, or country code.
  • Discovering venue details and attraction metadata for event planning.
  • Identifying onsale windows and presale timings using UTC-synchronized filters.
  • Automating event research for local market analysis or scheduling apps.
  • Generating copy-ready curl commands for technical documentation or testing.

How TicketMaster Works

  1. The skill initializes by checking for the local directory at ~/ticketmaster/ to store search preferences and logs.
  2. It authenticates with the Ticketmaster Discovery API using the TM_API_KEY environment variable provided by the user.
  3. Search queries are processed through either the ticketmaster.sh shell helper or direct curl commands, applying specific filters like city, countryCode, or venueId.
  4. The skill parses embedded JSON objects from the API response, including venue details, attraction info, and price ranges.
  5. Results are filtered and constrained locally to stay within the 1000-record deep paging limit and API quota.
  6. Local defaults such as preferred market or city are persisted in memory.md to refine future search context.

TicketMaster Setup

To use this TicketMaster skill within Openclaw Skills, ensure you have an API key and the necessary tools installed.

# 1. Set your API key from the Ticketmaster Developer Portal
export TM_API_KEY="your_api_key_here"

# 2. Verify requirements
# Ensure curl is installed. Optional: install jq for better formatting.

# 3. Initial search test using the bundled helper
./ticketmaster.sh events "concert" --city "New York"

TicketMaster Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill maintains a local directory structure to ensure persistence and speed for Openclaw Skills users:

File/Folder Purpose
~/ticketmaster/memory.md Stores preferred locale, market, city, and query defaults.
~/ticketmaster/queries.md A log of successfully executed queries for reuse.
~/ticketmaster/logs/ Optional directory for capturing helper output and API responses.
query-patterns.md Contains pre-defined recipes for common search scenarios.

TicketMaster Advanced Features

  • Market-aware query defaults that automatically apply preferred country and city filters to broad searches.
  • Integration with ticketmaster.sh, a local CLI wrapper for faster terminal-based discovery.
  • Automatic conversion of local time strings to ISO-8601 UTC timestamps for API compatibility.
  • Multi-agent support via shared search memory in the ~/ticketmaster/ directory.
  • Support for deep-linking search results to classifications, price ranges, and specific venue IDs.
