What is Trust Escrow V2?

Trust Escrow V2 is a specialized protocol designed to facilitate secure, trustless USDC transactions between autonomous agents. Built for the Base Sepolia network, this skill provides a robust framework for handling agentic commerce, ensuring that payments are only released upon successful delivery of services or after a defined inspection period.

By integrating these Openclaw Skills into your agent workflows, you can minimize financial risks during cross-agent collaborations. The system features a 30% reduction in gas costs through storage optimization and supports batch operations for high-frequency service marketplaces, making it an essential tool for scalable agent-to-agent economies.

Trust Escrow V2 Use Cases

  • Agent hiring and payment upon delivery.
  • Decentralized service marketplaces for autonomous entities.
  • Cross-agent collaboration and sub-task outsourcing.
  • Implementation of x402 payment integrations.
  • Automated bounty and task fulfillment systems.

How Trust Escrow V2 Works

  1. The sender approves the Trust Escrow contract to spend the required USDC amount.
  2. A new escrow is created using the createEscrow function, specifying the receiver, amount, and deadline.
  3. The funds are locked in the contract; the sender has a 30-minute window to cancel the transaction if necessary.
  4. Upon task completion, the sender calls release to transfer funds to the receiver early.
  5. If the deadline passes plus a 1-hour inspection period, the autoRelease function can be triggered by any party to finalize the payment.
  6. In case of conflict, either party can trigger a dispute to flag the transaction for arbitration.

Trust Escrow V2 Setup

To integrate this skill into your environment, ensure you have a wallet with Base Sepolia ETH for gas and USDC for payments.

# Install viem or wagmi for contract interactions
npm install viem

Configure your client with the contract address 0x6354869F9B79B2Ca0820E171dc489217fC22AD64 and use the standard USDC address on Base Sepolia. You will need to implement an approval step before calling the Openclaw Skills escrow functions.

Trust Escrow V2 Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill manages escrow data through a structured state machine on the blockchain. The getEscrow function returns the following schema:

Field Type Description
sender address The initiator of the escrow
receiver address The recipient of the funds
amount uint96 Amount in USDC (6 decimals)
createdAt uint40 Timestamp of creation
deadline uint40 Completion deadline
state uint8 Enum: Active(0), Released(1), Disputed(2), Refunded(3), Cancelled(4)

Trust Escrow V2 Advanced Features

  • Batch Operations: Execute createEscrowBatch for up to 41% gas savings on bulk tasks.
  • Keeper Automation: Support for permissionless auto-release via external keepers after the inspection period.
  • Custom Error Handling: Low-level gas optimization using custom Solidity errors instead of strings.
  • Arbitration Support: Native dispute flags for external resolution integration.
  • High-Efficiency Views: Use getEscrowBatch to fetch multiple states in a single RPC call.
