What is WiseTime?

WiseTime is an intelligent background application designed to capture every minute of your workday without the need for manual timers. By using Openclaw Skills, developers can bridge the gap between AI agents and real-world productivity data, allowing agents to query time logs, manage project tags, and generate comprehensive reports automatically.

This integration leverages the Membrane platform to handle complex authentication and credential management. This ensures that your Openclaw Skills interact securely with WiseTime's API while maintaining a low-token footprint by using pre-built actions instead of raw API calls.

WiseTime Use Cases

  • Automated billing and invoicing based on background time tracking data.
  • Generating weekly productivity reports for teams using Openclaw Skills.
  • Synchronizing time entries with external project management tools for accurate cost tracking.
  • Auditing activity logs for precise project analysis and resource allocation.

How WiseTime Works

  1. Install the Membrane CLI to interface with the WiseTime connector logic.
  2. Authenticate the agent using the login command to establish a secure session.
  3. Establish a connection to the WiseTime service using the connection ensure command.
  4. Use natural language intents to search for specific actions like logging time, creating projects, or retrieving activity.
  5. Execute validated actions or send proxy requests to the WiseTime API with automatic header and credential management.

WiseTime Setup

First, install the Membrane CLI to manage Openclaw Skills from your terminal:

npm install -g @membranehq/cli@latest

Next, authenticate your environment:

membrane login --tenant --clientName=openclaw

Finally, establish a secure connection to WiseTime:

membrane connection ensure "https://wisetime.com/" --json

If the connection state is BUILDING, poll the status until it becomes READY, then you are clear to authorize Openclaw Skills to access your time tracking data.

WiseTime Data Schema & Taxonomy

The skill organizes its data and interactions around the following WiseTime entities:

Entity Description
Time Entry Detailed records of tracked activity, including timestamps and durations.
Project High-level containers for categorizing time logs and managing billing codes.
Activity Specific tasks performed by users within the context of a project.
User / Team Entities representing individual contributors and organizational structures.
Report Aggregated data summaries used for productivity analysis and external exports.

WiseTime Advanced Features

  • Automated credential refreshing via Membrane's server-side management to prevent session timeouts.
  • Natural language action discovery to help agents find the most efficient endpoint for any time-tracking task.
  • Direct API proxying for advanced endpoints not yet covered by standard Openclaw Skills actions.
  • Native support for headless environments, allowing for remote authorization code completion.
