ego (lite) is a free Chromium-based agent browser that allows external AI agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Gemini CLI to perform logged-in web automation tasks in isolated Spaces. It shares your real Chrome browser state, including cookies, sessions, bookmarks, passwords, extensions, and profiles, so agents can work without repeated authentication. Users can continue browsing normally while agents handle tasks in parallel. The browser supports semantic page snapshots, JavaScript-based multi-action workflows, cross-origin iframes, shadow DOM, and third-party widgets. It is designed for social media, shopping, bookings, SaaS back offices, internal tools, research, and other authenticated web workflows.
Download ego (lite) for Mac, complete onboarding, and optionally migrate your Chrome data. Install the ego-browser skill for an agent such as Claude Code or Codex. In the agent interface, use the /ego-browser command and describe the task you want completed. The agent then opens or reuses browser tabs and performs the workflow inside its own isolated Space while you continue using your own tabs.
