NapCat Product Information

What is NapCat?

NapCat is a free macOS menu-bar app that turns the MacBook notch, or a customizable floating island on Macs without a notch, into a control center for AI coding agents and everyday shortcuts. It monitors Claude Code and Codex with rich session context, shows when work is active, needs attention, or is finished, and lets users return to the exact session. It also recognizes other local coding-agent CLIs at the process level. NapCat includes Claude permission and input controls, focus timers, customizable island layouts, activity tracking, and a screen nap mode that keeps long-running work awake. Agent monitoring and Activity data stay on the Mac, and no account or license key is required.

How to use NapCat?

Download the Mac app and open it; no account, license key, or activation is required. Connect or enable the local agent integrations you use, then view agent status in the notch or floating island. Click an item to return to its exact session, handle supported Claude Code prompts, and customize the island, alerts, focus timer, or screen nap settings. NapCat requires macOS 13 or later and Apple Silicon.
