What is Repowise?

Repowise is codebase intelligence software that analyzes source code, dependencies, call relationships, Git history, ownership, tests, security signals, and architectural decisions. It converts this evidence into a reusable codebase model, source-linked documentation, dependency graphs, health scores, change-risk analysis, and grounded answers for developers and AI coding agents. Repowise supports MCP tools for Claude Code, Cursor, and other compatible clients, as well as hosted repositories, GitHub pull request reviews, team workspaces, and self-hosting through its AGPL-3.0 open-source core.

How to use Repowise?

Browse a supported public repository without signing in, or connect a GitHub repository through the hosted service. Repowise indexes the repository and builds documentation, dependency graphs, ownership data, hotspots, architectural decisions, and health signals. Developers can search the indexed codebase, ask grounded questions, review change risk, explore generated documentation, or connect MCP tools to Claude Code, Cursor, and other AI clients. Teams can install the GitHub App, share repositories, and enable PR review and portfolio analysis. Developers can also self-host the AGPL-3.0 core with their preferred model provider or a local model.

Repowise's Use Cases

#1

Give coding agents reusable repository context without repeatedly sending the entire codebase

#2

Generate source-linked architecture and module documentation that stays synchronized with code changes

#3

Identify risky files, dependencies, missing tests, and hidden coupling before modifying code

#4

Review pull requests for changed contracts, missing historical co-changes, and repository-level risks

#5

Triage vulnerable dependencies by determining whether the application actually reaches affected code

#6

Measure the health and ownership of AI-generated code

#7

Onboard developers using searchable documentation and architectural decisions

#8

Track health, ownership, and change risk across an engineering portfolio
