Introduction

TwitchCon, an annual event where streamers and their communities Gather together, took a different turn this year by being held in Las Vegas instead of its usual locations. This was my first time attending as a vlogger, and I quickly discovered that creating a vlog was more challenging than I had anticipated. But before I delve into the ups and downs of my TwitchCon experience, I'd like to thank our sponsor for this video, Intel. Their support made this trip possible, and I'll share more about them later. Now, let's start with day zero and my journey to TwitchCon.

Day Zero: Traveling to TwitchCon

As I live in Los Angeles, the most obvious choice for getting to TwitchCon in Las Vegas would be to fly. However, I decided to make the journey by car since it was only a four-hour drive. I thought it would be fun to do an IRL stream during the drive, but little did I know what awaited me. The drive ended up taking a grueling seven hours due to heavy traffic and exorbitant gas prices. In fact, the cost of the roundtrip drive to Vegas was even more than three flights combined. Despite the setbacks, I managed to pass the time by hosting a Q&A with my chat. Unfortunately, the questions were not as thoughtful as I had hoped. Nonetheless, I was excited to finally reach TwitchCon and see familiar faces.

Day One: The TwitchCon Opening Ceremony

On the first official day of TwitchCon, I was determined not to let any more setbacks hinder my experience. After grabbing breakfast with some friends, I made it a priority to attend the opening ceremony, where Twitch usually makes exciting announcements. However, due to my previous day's delays, I missed out on getting a partner badge on day zero. I was determined to make it to the opening ceremony. After some confusion and searching, I finally found the Green Room for talent and prepared for my meet and greet. This was my first official Twitch meet and greet, and the fact that I received my own sign from Twitch filled me with a sense of validation for the years I had spent on the platform. The meet and greet went well, and afterward, I got to explore more of TwitchCon.

Day Two: Genin Impact and the World's Largest Keyboard

Day two of TwitchCon started with a return to the breakfast spot I had enjoyed the previous day. As I ate, my chat informed me about an ongoing live match featuring VX versus the Kaden. The score was close, and I couldn't resist the opportunity to watch it with my fellow TwitchCon attendees. Little did I know that this would lead to an unexpected encounter with someone I had battled against in an OSU RGC poll. LS toast, a streamer known for Beat Saber, was also Present at TwitchCon. We had a great conversation and even played a coin flip Game, which I ended up winning and adding $100 to the prize pool of his tournament. The day continued with more interactions and a visit to the Alienware Booth to judge the world's largest keyboard. Overall, it was a day filled with excitement and discoveries.

Day Three: Meet and Greets, Parties, and the Artist Alley

On the final day of TwitchCon, I had one more meet and greet in collaboration with Intel. It was a great opportunity to meet fans, give away some Intel merchandise, and express my gratitude to Intel for making this trip possible. Following the meet and greet, I ventured out to explore more of the convention. I visited various booths, including the Genshin Impact Booth and the Corsair Booth. I also attempted to purchase some merch for my girlfriend from the Artist Alley, but unfortunately, they were sold out. Nonetheless, the day was filled with Memorable moments and the chance to meet some incredible content creators and industry professionals.

Conclusion

In conclusion, TwitchCon 2023 was a whirlwind of experiences and emotions. From the challenges of travel and navigating the event to the excitement of attending the opening ceremony, meeting fans, and exploring the diverse booths and activities, TwitchCon truly brought streamers and their communities together. I am grateful to Intel for their sponsorship and support, as well as all the individuals I met along the way. TwitchCon may have come to an end, but the memories and connections made will last a lifetime.
