Overview

Managing continuous content creation can be time-consuming, especially when curating industry news and ensuring it is repurposed uniquely for different platforms. This advanced n8n workflow solves this by creating a fully automated pipeline for content curation, rewriting, and multi-platform publishing, minimizing manual intervention while maintaining quality control.

The system starts by monitoring key RSS feeds. It then leverages the power of OpenAI (GPT-4o) via a sophisticated n8n node setup to generate unique, SEO-friendly blog posts, titles, and keywords based on the scraped source material. Crucially, the n8n template includes a necessary 'Human-in-the-Loop' segment, using Google Sheets for tracking and a webhook-triggered process for approval, ensuring only reviewed content is pushed to WordPress and LinkedIn. This is a powerful demonstration of how an n8n trigger can initiate complex, multi-stage automation.

How it Works

The entire process is initiated by the 'Schedule Trigger', a robust n8n trigger that runs daily.

  1. Ingestion & Filtering: The workflow reads multiple RSS feeds (e.g., TheVerge, TechCrunch), merges the results, and uses a Date Filter n8n node to only process articles published in the last 24 hours, limiting the batch size.

  2. Content Retrieval & Cleaning: It fetches the full article body via an HTTP Request, extracts the core content using an HTML Extract n8n node, and converts it to Markdown.

  3. AI Generation: An OpenAI n8n node generates SEO keywords, and a Langchain Agent uses the scraped content and the GPT-4o model to rewrite and format the final blog post content.

  4. Initial Storage: Data is structured, including setting the creation date and adding placeholder featured image data, and then stored in Google Sheets using the 'Store Blog Posts Initial' n8n node. This spreadsheet serves as the central database for the content queue.

  5. Review Loop: The workflow sends an email notification (via Gmail) to the content manager, prompting them to review the articles in the Google Sheet. Approval or rejection is managed by clicking a link tied to the 'Approval Webhook' n8n node.

  6. Status Check: Once the webhook receives input, the status in Google Sheets is updated. A subsequent step uses the 'Check Status' n8n node to route the item: Approved items continue to publishing, rejected items trigger a notification, and pending items enter a 'Wait for Status Update' loop.

  7. Publishing & Synchronization: Approved articles are checked against existing records to prevent duplication. The workflow then applies a final template, stores the definitive version ('Store Blog Posts Final'), and uses the 'Loop Over Blog Posts' n8n node to publish sequentially to WordPress and LinkedIn, with a rate-limiting delay between each post. Finally, the publish status is updated in Google Sheets.

Installation Guide

To use this n8n workflow template, follow these steps:

  1. Import the JSON: Copy the provided n8n workflow JSON and import it into your n8n instance.

  2. Set Credentials: You will need to configure credentials for the following services:

OpenAI: For the Langchain Agent and Generate SEO Keywords n8n node.
Google Sheets: Essential for tracking the content queue, statuses, and final results.
Gmail/Email Service: To send 'Notify for Review' emails containing the webhook link for approval.
WordPress: For the final blog post publishing.
* LinkedIn: For cross-posting social updates.

  1. Configure RSS Feeds: In the 'RSS TheVerge' and 'RSS TechCrunch' n8n node settings, replace the default URLs with your desired RSS feed sources.

  2. Set Webhooks: The 'Approval Webhook' n8n node needs to be active. You must retrieve its URL and embed it into the 'Notify for Review' Gmail n8n node, structuring the link to include the necessary sheet row ID for identification.

  3. Activate: Set the Schedule Trigger to active and ensure the Google Sheets and WordPress n8n nodes are pointing to the correct documents/instances.

Node Details

Schedule Trigger: This is the initial n8n trigger, set to run daily, initiating the content discovery phase.
RSS Feed Read n8n node (TechCrunch/TheVerge): Pulls the latest news items from defined external sources.
Limit Articles n8n node: Ensures the process handles a maximum of 5 items per run, controlling consumption and complexity.
Fetch Full Article (HTTP Request): Essential n8n node for scraping the actual content hidden behind the RSS summary link.
Generate SEO Keywords (OpenAI): Utilizes the OpenAI API to analyze the article and output relevant SEO keywords before the full rewrite.
Generate Blog Post (Langchain Agent): The core AI logic. This specialized n8n node uses the input text and the connected OpenAI Chat Model1 to generate a completely new, unique article version.
Store Blog Posts Initial/Final (Google Sheets): Used extensively throughout this n8n workflow for data persistence, status tracking, and as the 'database' for the human review system.
Notify for Review (Gmail): Sends the manager a prompt and provides the actionable webhook link to approve or reject the content.
Approval Webhook n8n node: A critical 'Human-in-the-Loop' component. This n8n node pauses the flow until a manual HTTP call (the click of the approval link) is received.
Check Status (Switch): Flow control logic that determines whether the approved article proceeds to publishing or awaits further action.
Post to Wordpress n8n node: The final publishing step, creating a new post or article on the connected WordPress site.
Post to LinkedIn n8n node: Cross-posts a brief summary or announcement linking to the new WordPress article, maximizing content reach.
