Overview

Managing an online store and keeping product listings synchronized with real-time announcements can be challenging. This advanced n8n workflow solves this by creating a direct bridge between your Telegram channel and your WooCommerce shop. Once a product announcement is posted to Telegram, this n8n automation takes over, extracting the product details, downloading all associated media (images), determining the correct category ID via text parsing, and finally creating a complete product entry in WooCommerce. This complex n8n node setup ensures efficiency, accuracy, and eliminates manual data entry, providing a powerful demonstration of what this n8n template can achieve for e-commerce automation.

How it Works

This powerful n8n workflow is initiated by the Telegram Trigger n8n node. When a new message is posted to the configured Telegram channel, the data is captured.

  1. Data Preparation: The SetFields n8n node extracts essential details like text, price, and media references from the incoming Telegram payload.

  2. Conditional Routing: An initial If n8n node checks the message structure to ensure it is a valid product announcement before proceeding.

  3. Image Check: The Code n8n node prepares data for the IfHasPhoto n8n node, which branches the n8n workflow based on whether an image is attached.

  4. Media Processing (If Photos Exist): The n8n workflow uses a Telegram n8n node (Get a file/Get a file1) to retrieve the media path. These files are then uploaded to the media library (via UploadImage/UploadImage1 HTTP Request nodes), often saving product image URLs. A series of steps involving Wait, Read/Write Files from Disk1, and Code3 ensure all image URLs are correctly aggregated into a single array ready for WooCommerce.

  5. Category Mapping: An httpRequest n8n node (GetCategories) fetches all existing WooCommerce categories. Simultaneously, a dedicated Code n8n node (FindCatIdFromText) parses the product description text to identify and match the correct category ID from the list.

  6. Product Creation: Finally, the Create a product WooCommerce n8n node uses all the structured data—title, description, image array, and calculated category ID—to successfully publish the new product listing. This comprehensive n8n template handles the entire listing process automatically.

Installation Guide

  1. Import the n8n Workflow: Copy the provided JSON data and paste it into your n8n instance using the 'Import from JSON' function.

  2. Telegram Credentials: Set up credentials for the Telegram Trigger n8n node and the Telegram n8n node for fetching files, linking them to your bot and channel.

  3. WooCommerce Credentials: Configure the Create a product WooCommerce n8n node with your WooCommerce API key and secret.

  4. HTTP Request Node Configuration: The UploadImage and GetCategories n8n nodes use HTTP requests. You must configure the URLs, headers (often authorization tokens), and payload formats to match your specific image hosting or WooCommerce API requirements.

  5. Activation: Once all credentials and external connections are verified, activate the n8n trigger to begin monitoring your Telegram channel.

Node Details

Telegram Trigger (n8n trigger): The starting point. Listens for new messages posted to a specific Telegram channel.
SetFields (n8n node): Initial data transformation to structure the raw Telegram message data into usable fields (like product name and description).
If/IfHasPhoto (n8n node): Core logic control. Used to filter out irrelevant messages and to check for the presence of photo media, directing the n8n workflow accordingly.
Code (n8n node) - FindCatIdFromText: This critical n8n node uses JavaScript to parse the product text description and match the stated category name with the corresponding Category ID retrieved from WooCommerce's API.
Telegram (n8n node) - Get a file: Used multiple times to retrieve the file path for attached media from Telegram.
HTTP Request (n8n node) - UploadImage/GetCategories: Manages external API calls, either to upload binary image data or to fetch category data from the WooCommerce API endpoint.

  • WooCommerce (n8n node) - Create a product: The final action. This n8n node takes the aggregated product data and publishes the new listing to your e-commerce store.
