  • Businesses needing an automated, scalable way to generate fresh data.

  • Users looking for advanced web scraping functionality within their n8n environment.

Overview

Generating high-quality, enriched leads often requires juggling multiple tools and manual data entry. This n8n workflow solves that problem by integrating the powerful scraping capabilities of the Olostep API directly into your automation process. Starting with a simple n8n trigger, the workflow first scrapes Google Maps for businesses matching specific criteria (e.g., 'Dentist in London'), collecting basic data like name, website, and phone number. Crucially, it then uses a second scraping action on each business's website to identify and extract the decision-maker's name and contact email, providing truly enriched data. The entire list is then systematically cleaned of duplicates and stored in Google Sheets. This ready-to-use n8n template drastically reduces lead acquisition time, ensuring your sales team has a constant stream of verified, actionable leads.

How it Works

The entire process is initiated by an n8n trigger, specifically the Form Trigger n8n node, which accepts inputs for the target City and Business type.

  1. Initial Scrape (Google Maps): The workflow executes a POST request via an HTTP Request n8n node to the Olostep API. The request dynamically builds a Google Maps search URL using the input fields. The API performs the scrape and uses an LLM schema to extract the primary data: business name, website, location, and phone number.

  2. Data Preparation: The raw JSON result from Olostep is cleaned, parsed, and then split into individual items using the Split Out n8n node. The Remove Duplicates n8n node ensures that only unique businesses proceed, maintaining data cleanliness.

  3. Looping and Enrichment: The Split In Batches n8n node sets up a loop. For every unique business item, a second HTTP Request n8n node is executed.

  4. Decision-Maker Extraction (Website Scrape): This second Olostep API call targets the business's specific website URL (captured in step 1). It uses an LLM extraction schema optimized to locate the first name, last name, and contact email of the decision-maker (CEO/Owner) from the website content.

  5. Data Storage: The enriched data (original business info merged with decision-maker contact info) is appended as a new row in Google Sheets using the Google Sheets n8n node.

  6. Rate Limit Management: A Wait n8n node is included after saving the lead to prevent exceeding API rate limits, ensuring smooth, continuous operation of the n8n workflow.

Installation Guide

To deploy this powerful n8n workflow, follow these steps:

  1. Import the n8n Template: Copy the provided JSON code and import it into your n8n instance via the 'Workflows' section.

  2. Olostep API Setup: Locate the two 'HTTP Request' n8n nodes ('scrape information' and 'scrape the name'). You must replace the placeholder in the 'Authorization' header parameter for both nodes with your actual Olostep Bearer API token.

  3. Google Sheets Connection: Configure the 'Append row in sheet' Google Sheets n8n node.

- Credentials: Connect your Google Sheets account using the appropriate credentials.
- Spreadsheet ID and Sheet Name: Select the specific Google Sheet document and the tab ('leads') where you wish the scraped data to be saved.

  1. Activate and Deploy: Activate the n8n workflow. The 'On form submission' n8n trigger will provide a public URL you can use to input new search queries and start the lead generation process.

Node Details

On form submission (Form Trigger): This n8n trigger initiates the automation. It provides a simple web form to capture the necessary search criteria: 'City' and 'business' type.
scrape information (HTTP Request): Connects to the Olostep API to perform the initial Google Maps scrape. It dynamically creates the search URL and uses an LLM schema for structured extraction of business name, website, location, and phone number.
parsedInfo & name (Set): Standard n8n node functions used to correctly parse the JSON content returned by the Olostep API before further processing, ensuring the data is accessible in the workflow.
Split Out & Remove Duplicates (Flow Control): Essential steps to break the list of search results into individual items and ensure that the subsequent looping and enrichment only process unique businesses.
Loop Over Items (Split In Batches): This critical n8n node manages the iterative process, ensuring the enrichment steps are performed sequentially for every single scraped business URL.
scrape the name (HTTP Request): Performs the second, targeted scrape on the individual business website (using the website URL captured earlier). This Olostep call uses an advanced LLM schema to specifically hunt for decision-maker names (First/Last Name) and their corporate email address.

  • Append row in sheet (Google Sheets n8n node): The final action, which compiles all captured information—Business Name, Website, Phone Number, Decision-Maker Name, and Contact Email—and saves it neatly into your designated Google Sheet.
