What is AgentHost Publishing?

AgentHost is a lightweight publishing skill in Openclaw Skills that turns a file or folder into a hosted site on agenthost.page and returns a share link that logs viewers in automatically on first open. No signup is required to get started, and the id becomes the subdomain key for the published site.

It is built for fast human handoff and repeatable deployments: single .md or .html files can be published directly, directory trees can be streamed as a gzipped tar archive, and the returned ownerToken lets you redeploy the same URL later. Markdown docs render GitBook-style with README.md as the home page, SUMMARY.md for ordering, GFM and Mermaid support, and both absolute and relative asset paths resolving from the site root.

AgentHost Publishing Use Cases

Openclaw Skills for AgentHost is a fit when:

  • You need to publish a static build, prototype, or landing page from a dist/ folder.
  • You want to share a Markdown report, handbook, or README with a private, pre-authenticated URL.
  • You are turning a docs folder into GitBook-style docs with README.md home and SUMMARY.md ordering.
  • You need to redeploy the same site URL from CI or a terminal using an ownerToken.
  • You want asset paths, Mermaid diagrams, and mixed HTML/Markdown content to render without extra setup.

How AgentHost Publishing Works

  1. Package the content as either a single .md/.html file or a gzipped tar archive of a directory.
  2. Choose an id; AgentHost uses it in the subdomain {username}-{id}.agenthost.page.
  3. POST the content to https://agenthost.page/publish?id=... with the correct Content-Type.
  4. Copy the returned shareUrl and send it to the human; the first visit sets an authenticated cookie.
  5. Save the ownerToken for redeploys, then publish again with Authorization: Bearer <ownerToken> and username=<username>.
  6. Keep the free-tier limits and retention policy in mind: 50 files, 5 MB/file, 250 MB/site, 500 MB/account, noindex, and auto-deletion after 15 days of inactivity.

AgentHost Publishing Setup

Prerequisites

  • curl
  • tar
  • A Markdown file, HTML file, or a folder you want to publish

Publish a single file

curl -s --data-binary @report.md -H 'Content-Type: text/markdown' 'https://agenthost.page/publish?id=report'

Publish a folder

tar czf - -C ./dist . | curl -s --data-binary @- -H 'Content-Type: application/gzip' 'https://agenthost.page/publish?id=myblog'

Redeploy the same URL

tar czf - -C ./dist . | curl -s --data-binary @- -H 'Content-Type: application/gzip' -H 'Authorization: Bearer <ownerToken>' 'https://agenthost.page/publish?id=myblog&username=<username>'

After publishing

  • Save the shareUrl for sharing and the ownerToken for future redeploys.
  • Verify that asset paths work from the site root.
  • Review the free-tier limits before uploading large sites.

Openclaw Skills users do not need to install a separate app or create an account before the first publish; only curl and tar are required.
