What is Animated Sticker Maker?

Openclaw Skills packages the entire animated sticker workflow around a single reference image and a single natural-language motion prompt, turning them into one transparent, loop-ready sticker with identity locking, motion planning, alpha cleanup, validation, and export-ready packaging.

It is designed for precise, repeatable agent-side production rather than casual animation: the skill keeps the subject recognizable, limits scope to one sticker per invocation, and writes canonical artifacts such as sticker.webp, motion.json, and validation reports so the result is reproducible and easy to ship.

Animated Sticker Maker Use Cases

  • Use Openclaw Skills to turn a mascot, pet, avatar, illustration, object, or logo into a transparent animated sticker.
  • Add a simple expression, gesture, text beat, or prop motion to a single subject without asking the user for technical settings.
  • Produce one loopable sticker for chat apps, community drops, brand packs, or social content where identity consistency matters.
  • Clean up alpha, packaging, and timing for raster sources that need a validated WebP deliverable.
  • Export platform-specific derivatives only when a destination requires GIF sizing, byte limits, or official constraints.

How Animated Sticker Maker Works

  1. Inspect the reference image at full size and icon size, then lock the subject’s identity by separating fixed features from flexible or removable details.
  2. Convert the natural-language prompt into one primary semantic beat, anchor poses, exact text layers, frame durations, and loop behavior.
  3. Generate only the minimum anchors needed, rejecting any frame that drifts from the identity lock before animation begins.
  4. Build clean RGBA assets, preserving alpha when present or chroma-keying the background when required.
  5. Compose 4–8 unique frames with deterministic timing, a clear semantic hold, and the correct resampling policy for the source artwork.
  6. Package the result into output/<name>/ with sticker.webp, copied source frames, metadata, contact sheet, and technical validation reports.
  7. Perform visual validation, record the result, and export platform-specific derivatives only after both technical and visual checks pass.

Animated Sticker Maker Setup

  1. Use Python 3.10 or newer.
  2. Install the skill dependencies from requirements.txt.
  3. Run the skill from the directory containing SKILL.md so relative paths resolve correctly.
  4. Make sure your host provides reference-conditioned raster generation or editing that can preserve subject identity; the skill fails fast if that capability is missing.
  5. If you are using an OpenAI host UI, treat agents/openai.yaml as optional invocation metadata only.
cd <skill-dir>
python3.10 -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate
pip install -r requirements.txt

Openclaw Skills does not require OpenCV as a dependency, so keep the environment lean unless your host explicitly adds it.

Animated Sticker Maker Data Schema & Taxonomy

Directory layout

Path Purpose Notes
output/<name>/sticker.webp Primary deliverable Validated animated WebP with loop and transparency checks
output/<name>/source/frames/000.png ... Canonical authored frames Copied and normalized by the packager
output/<name>/source/rendered-frames/ Optional high-frame track Created only when motion.render is used; internal artifact directory
output/<name>/source/reference.json Reference metadata Stores basename, hash, dimensions, mode, format, and byte size
output/<name>/source/motion.json Motion contract Self-contained source of truth for identity, motion, timing, loop, and resampling
output/<name>/validation/contact-sheet.png Visual review aid Used for small-size and edge inspection
output/<name>/validation/report.json Validation record Stores technical_validation, visual_validation, deliverable_ready, and fingerprint data
output/<name>/validation/render-report.json Render-track report Present only when a deterministic motion.render track exists
output/<name>/exports/<platform>/ Platform-specific derivatives Derived files only; sources are not recompressed in place
<output>.failed/ Failed transactional candidate Latest failed package is preserved here until a successful replacement

Metadata taxonomy

  • Identity: subject type, silhouette, palette, material, anchors, and forbidden drift.
  • Motion: primary semantic beat, anchor poses, deterministic transitions, text layers, per-frame durations, hold frame, loop behavior, and motion.resampling.
  • Provenance: reference basename and hash, source frame normalization, and artifact fingerprints.
  • Validation: technical, visual, and deliverable readiness status plus alpha and small-icon checks.
  • Export provenance: platform name, target size, max-bytes limit, spec URL, verification date, palette counts, and frame-rate candidates.

Animated Sticker Maker Advanced Features

Advanced Openclaw Skills workflows benefit from:

  • Identity-lock enforcement that rejects drift before it can be baked into the animation.
  • Salvage of isolated expressions or props from a failed full anchor when extraction is seam-safe and deterministic.
  • Alpha cleanup with optional chroma keying and separate shadow control for complex subjects.
  • Transactional packaging that stages builds, swaps only on success, and preserves the latest failed candidate for debugging.
  • Optional high-frame render tracks normalized into source/rendered-frames/ with separate validation.
  • Platform exports that preserve source timing, use a shared GIF palette, and search palette sizes against byte budgets.
  • Validation-first delivery with artifact fingerprints, small-icon inspection, and explicit deliverable gating.
